Check with Imola Motorsports. I don't know that they would do it but, they might. They are excellent at what they do.

I checked with imola already and they don't cut and weld. But am looking for a shop also to do this mod.

So, I just picked up my muffler from Dave at D.O. Metalwerks in Coon Rapids. Dave did some excellent work! He took pictures along the way and kept me apprised of each step. Great to deal with, great work, and quick turnaround time! From start to finish; cutting open the muffler, cutting out the perforated pipes, welding in new ones, and sealing it back up using stainless steel, he charges $250. I would certainly recommend him to anyone else. His website is here. http://www.dometalwerks.com

Any feedback on the new sound?

And thanks for the tip--I really want to mod mine assuming the sound is noticeably improved.

The sound is perfect for a daily driver, in my opinion. It's significantly more aggressive without being loud and obnoxious. It's the way it should have come stock.

Looks like you made his website. Sounds like you had to remove the muffler and bring it to him separately, is that correct?

Last question--is it louder just in the higher revs, or across the whole rev range? I'm just wondering how much louder, if at all, it is when just cruising on the freeway at 75.

Thanks for all the feedback!

It's definitely louder all over; upon start-up it's louder, it idles slightly throatier, etc. It isn't too loud to upset the neighbors early in the morning or late at night as long as you stay out of the loud pedal.

On the highway, in the cabin, the sound isn't noticeable while cruising; definitely commute or road-trip friendly; it doesn't upset the adult or child passengers. However, if you put your foot into it, the exhaust noise finally matches up with the intake sound for an extremely pleasing symphony.

I truly believe it is the sound the car should have came with from the factory.

If you are in the Metro area and need something welded this is the guy I would suggest. http://www.dometalwerks.com
Kramerj had some work done by Dave so I checked him out and had him do some welding for me as well. I have a MPE that needed some repairs that someone else had tried to do. Evidently the person who originally welded the exhaust had no clue as to what they were doing. Dave checked out what would be needed to weld the Iconel material used for the exhaust and located the supplies needed. He first checked it out then ordered the materials after informing me of the costs.

During the process he took pictures and kept me informed as to what was going on. He delivered the repaired exhaust as promised. He told me what day he would have it finished and as promised it was ready. The portion of the exhaust he repaired was no easy task as he ended up removing a corner of the muffler and fabricating a new corner for it. That area has various curves to it and it turned out perfect. He does excellent work and I would recommend him to anyone needing any type of welding. Oh and his prices are excellent. Good work for a good price.

I just had Dave at D.O. Metalworks MOD my OEM exhaust as well. Same great experience as everyone else mentioned on here. Very nice guy, he did great work, and sent me pics along the way.

This thing sounds awesome! Highly recommend him!
