Can you code EDC to maintain full stiffness?

Based on my research, I found that EDC in normal mode varies stiffness on the fly all the way to 100%, but on sport mode it holds it steady at only 75%. I find that a bit too soft for the track. Is there a way to code the EDC in sport mode to hold a stiffer setting, maybe even 100%?

Use ZCP coding. It codes Sport to variable. Also if you put ZCP coding on regular edc (non ZCP springs and dampners) they say all three settings are one level firmer which should give you what you want.

I can't help you with that. But this is a pretty busy forum and I bet you'll find someone on here to help you maintain full stiffness.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're asking, but try this (copied + pasted from another user)

Do the following in iDrive:

- Go to settings

- Go to M drive

- Push the joystick thingy to the right

You then should be able to change the "power" and EDC settings for your key (says "M key settings" or something). This will be the default "power" and EDC settings any time you start the car with that key.

Not at all. I know all that. My question was if it's possible to hack into the EDC computer so that in sport mode it maintains a stiffness setting higher than the pre-programmed 75% level.

I think forum regular/sponsor "Mike Benvo" would know probably know a thing or two about this. If he doesn't reply to his thread send him a PM.

if you want no variability in the EDC dampening reaction time, you just need to put your EDC in sport (assuming you have non-ZCP).

IMO, you won't be able to tell the difference.

I already do that. I was actually more interested in stiffening up the edc sport mode by utilizing the full potential of the oem dampers, since sport mode only uses 75% of the available stiffness. I'm actually surprised that no one thought of doing that before me. It seems like an easier and cheaper alternative to getting coilovers, and you still get to keep the edc functionality for the road.

It's not easy to maintain full stiffness all the time. You generally need a break here and there.

Viagra... but if full stiffness lasts longer than four hours, you will need to consult a physician.

If you go to track and not satisfied with not stiffness, go for coils

You would not want full stiff with no variance or give on a track. That's why zcp m3 is faster than civic m3 on the ring

Not sure what you mean there. I don't think the dampers would transform into a solid metal tube at 100%. They will still be compressible and have give and play in them. I actually think even then, they would still be a bit softer than a set of coilovers. Also, did I miss something? When did the competition package M3 prove to be faster than a civic M3 anywhere in the world other than in the minds of the people who bought the ZCP and are trying to justify their purchase?

That reminds me: Wouldn't a Civic M3 be the one with that's lowered and has different wheels, but isn't really any faster than stock? Of course, it's missing the huge ass wing in the back, maybe that's why...

Cheers

Do you have a reference for your 75% figure? How do you know that's true?

Interesting information that would explain why I've noticed normal mode to at times feel stiffer than sport to the point of being uncomfortable.
