Is this 1/2 turn screw on oil funnel worth the cost?

I use one that I bought years ago, but do a lot of oil changes as a track car.

Even if you can't pour a bottle of oil, the most basic $1.99 funnel will do just the same thing. -Duke |

Or cutting a liter oil bottle in half and using it as a funnel. motul bottles have a handy pull out spout that fits nicely in most 710 holes.

I have this one and I love it. It comes in handy and I can fill 2 liters at a time:

I have that one from FCP and it's awesome. Because it's fixed and thus secure I can dump the liter or quart upside down in the funnel and walk away to prep the next. Gets every drop out and saves my shoulder.

He also has insulation piping so I feel he's the outlier in this, so aside from his setup (or Harrop in general), useless. For 4.99 you can buy a box of 50 of the disposable paper/wax cardboard ones. -Duke Edit: sorry, pack of 12 and $7.99 - https://www.amazon.com/ValvoMax-Disp...a-586461308395 And those are the NICE ones; cheaper cone ones 100 for $4.99. |

It's definitely not needed, but again it's $50 and ensures a clean pour, hands free, and without any fuss. That's like 5 sandwiches. Easy justification

Negative utility for me as I keep a soft but effective plastic funnel in the trunk under the trunk floor lid along with a liter of 10w60. This funnel would never fit.
I also don't see the point of the screw-on funnel since oil spillage isn't much of an issue. And a shop towel works fine for catching funnel drip. |

I used to use a piece of regular printer 8x11 paper and twist it into a funnel. I have a plastic one now but I still use the paper funnel every now and then.
I find I never need to top off the oil between oil changes. The car does not consume any oil.
