best m359 replica available in a 11" width?
Whats the best m359 replica available in a 11" width?
Have a 2012 ZCP, and recently went supercharged. Need more rubber to put the power down. Absolutely love the look of the stock m359's and really don't want to change it. I'm interested in looking at wider replica wheels, but am curious what is out there and what is better than what. I'm aware of the vmr v710, but they seem like a cheap wheel. What other options are there? Would prefer something built as well or better than the stock m359s. Avante guarde seems to be the most popular option but doesnt come in anything wider than stock sizes. Intended setup would be 10" front, et25, 275/30r19, 11" rear, et25, 295/30r19 Michelin PS4S tires on stock zcp suspension. From what I've read, this combination shouldn't rub Last edited by drwankel; 12-15-2020 at 12:49 AM.. |

Yeah after doing some major searching, I dont think there is an option outside of the VMRs. I've read way too many stories of people bending VMR's and it just doesnt lead me to believe its a quality rim.
I'd really love it if BBS had the CHR or the RGR in more sizes and offsets, but they don't. Forgestar is probably my best bet for a well built wheel that meets the specs, but they don't have anything that looks like the m359. |

I took a look at apex and titan7. Thanks for the tip. Doing a 10"/11" on 19s with either of those isnt possible due to having the wrong offest available. They both do offer a 9.5" and 10.5" version, but at slightly different offsets than I was looking at. Apex can do a et22 on both wheels only, and titan-7 can do et22 front, and et25 rear. If I could use either of those combinations with 275/30r19s in front and 295/30r19s in the rear with stock zcp suspension without rubbing, I'd be ok with that. It would give the little bit of extra support on the sidewalls that I am after. That all being said, I have no idea if this combo rubs. If anybody knows, that would be great, for for now I'll start searching the rub/no rub index thread to see if someone is running this combo. |

AG make the m610 in a 19x11 rear not sure on the offsets, it's a similar wheel and I would imagine in typical AG fashion accept a BMW center cap.
Another idea is HRE FF01... they might be able to make a custom set to your specs.

Interesting. I didn't know about the m610. AG says they can do custom offsets, so that is an option. Thanks for that.
Will take a look at HRE as well. |

I have the EC-7 wheels in Race Silver in those sizes (9.5/10.5) for my street set in the M3, but I'm using 255/35 and 275/35-19 PS4S. Even though the EC-7 wheels are 0.5" wider than the M359, they are about 4lbs lighter per wheel.

If you're dead set on the ZCP style, this guy (Post #10) had ZCP rear wheels widened to 11", and put the factory 10" rears in the front:
https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=578038 Looks sketchy but Malek at MRF gave his vote of confidence in the thread at least to widening wheels though not the approach used by that poster. Probably need a lot of confidence in the shop doing the job! Another guy that did the same (Edit: I think these are actually the same wheels from the car above, thread says he got them from a a guy in NJ): https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13762635 Last edited by jra85; 12-19-2020 at 08:47 AM.. |

The thing that would scare me of widening 359's is that they're low pressure cast wheels and cutting them and welding them would more than likely include some micro-porosity in the welds. It would always leave me wondering about the strength of that weld every time I hit a pothole or the curbs on the track and I wouldn't want that stress in my life.

Yeah, wouldn't be a route I'd personally take though apparently if you've got an experienced welder it's an entirely viable solution. I use 275/295 widths on my ZCP wheels and just live with the slightly oversized nature of them on those wheels.

Those TA16's are nice. They can support a 275/295 setup, but are 9.5" and 10.5", and they are forged!
I guess the question now is about rubbing. Its an ET37 for the rear, and et 22 for the front. No indication if in the example photos if they are using spacers or not. I think its completely insane go go buy a set of rims and then run spacers. You should just get the correct offset from the start. No indication from the rub/no rub index thread of anybody running this offset combo. I'll probably give bimmerworld a call on monday and see if they have more info. I called and asked about the TA16's and they stated the 19's are sized for the the f80, not the e9x. The rears require a 12mm spacer to be used on a e9x.
Really don't want to run spacers, so the search continues. |

I run the ec7 in 19x9.5/10.5 on 275/295 pss on stock zcp suspension and it fits great and there is plenty of sidewall support That’s what I would recommend. |

I WISH THERE WAS A SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM *solution, forged split-8 ZCP-style wheel immediately pointed out* NOT THAT ONE lol But seriously, the Apex wheels are probably the closest thing. The EC7 manages to look pretty close to the ZCP in real life, despite the missing spokes. They won't be much lighter than the OEM ZCP setup, but especially with a blower on the car, it won't matter much. A friend had their 19" 10/11 setup on a stock-height ZCP E92 and it looked pretty awesome.

The reality is spacers only exist as a hack because you cant get the right offset to begin with. Nobody would intentionally choose spacers if they can get the correct offset.
What I'd like to see is someone offering a forged set that allows you to specify the correct offset without resorting to a hack. |

Can you confirm the offset you are running? Assuming ET22 front and rear?
