Try www.tiresdirect.net, I bought my R888 set there and their price was the best I could find anywhere, I understand they ship overseas as well

Do you know if The RA-1s are being made again ? They are still listed on that website. Side note - Which has better traction R888 or RA-1?

RA-1 is more on street tire side and last much longer than R888. As comparison, R888 has better grip and more forgiving, but they don't last long, about 8k miles on streets even you drive your car like grandma.
If you just through a set of tires on the car without proper chassis tuning, R888 can be ugly though. back to your question, R888 has better traction for sure. |

We didn't go faster on the r888 in spec miata and they were less consistent than the ra1 through the course of a 45 minute race. When they are both shaved to 2/32" the ra1 is faster at least on a light car. The stiffer sidewall on the r888 made some people feel like they had more grip but like always the stopwatch told the true story
888's wanted less camber and tire pressure than the ra1 Might be different on heavy cars but most people in club racing who can choose to use something else dont even bother with the toyos so it's only an issue when there's a spec tire

Tiresdirect.net are still a little bit cheaper, I paid at tiresdirect.net about $100 less for my set of 2ea x 295x30x19 + 2ea 265x30x19 compared to the price for the same set at this other tire dealer

sorry to resurrect an old post, thought it would be better than starting a new one.
I've got the same scenario where I will be purchasing the R888, and 265 and 295 respectively. However, I didn't see if anyone said that it worked on the 359m (ZCP) wheels or not. Or did you guys change your rims also? I'll be making the purchase by Wednesday, and i would really like to know if there were any issues with R888, 359M wheels, and 2011 E92 M3 thank you! |

Tire Rack now carries the R888. We did not when this thread first went up. As far as rubbing, these sizes have generally been found to work, though sometimes with minor rubbing. When you are at the limits of what fits, rub/no-rub is not 100% predictable. Variations in the fender liners and alignments setups can make the difference.

Agree - Tire rack is the way to go - Super fast shipping even to Germany & they are easy to deal with. They don't take your $$ & make you wait while they order the tires. They tell you about availability upfront, unlike other vendors here who will take your $ & then let you know they are out of stock for the next 9 weeks & refuse a refund....all to make a dollar & then they expect you to recommend them or to go back to them for future purchases. Okay - lil tangent.
