A lil help !!

So i went to my local tire shop (major brand) to get winter wheels/tires on my 2011 E90. I had read on it a lil bit and my thought was to get Blizzak LM32 with 235/40/18 all around and Drag DR37 wheels (18x8).

The sales manager looked and looked in their systems and even though they had the tires in stock, his bottom line was that this tire setup will not work for me / will not fit, something about the weight rating on the rears. I dont know where he is getting his info but I have seen multiple threads where folks have been using this setup for their winter tires.

Any thoughts ?? is he right??

TIA

235/40R18 all around is fine. BMW's factory winter package used that size. The load rating of the tire is lower than the load rating of the original rear tire due to the fact that it is smaller, but still sufficient for the weight of the vehicle.

They are comparing load ratings to the OEM tires..if it is lower, there is a risk that it may not be sufficient. Because of this, shops have policies on what they will allow. However, as Ben stated, you should be okay still.
