Cquartz is much better in the looks department for sure, but I'm not sure how much longer opticoat will outlast cquartz. This is for my garage queen so it will easily make the 2 year mark. Cquartz seems to be the popular coating right now and my detailer is authorized to apply it.

Just started looking at cquartz and saw this amazing video. I really need a gloss tester! I was talking to Phil @detailersdomain about opticoat vs wolf chemicals hardbody and he said if I was after depth and shine hardbody was deeper. Now I'm curious how it compares to cquartz. I'm sure cquartz will last longer for sure. I have applied hardbody before and honestly it's like a paint sealant as far as durability, but way more slick/brilliant. I need a gloss tester. Had no idea this tool existed.

hardbody is in no league of cquartz or opticoat. wolfs came out with some good sealants and then coatings came out and dominated the market. like i said cquartz is the popular coating of choice right now for many professionals.

Did you wrap your garage queen in 3m in the front? I put ventureshield on the front, side skirts, and behind rear wheel. After 1 year it's noticeably yellow. Even with the regular maintenance. I thought venture wasn't supposed to yellow and now I'm tempted to remove it. Problem is I drive like 12k per year and really don't want to subject the front end to the blasting of Seattle weather.

Yea I did a review of it and posted it too. For the price it's not a bad product except it isn't perfect looking compared to a clear bra obviously. I think it's great for rocker panels or areas like that. Possibly good for track days or long road trips. Most people seem to not like it, but for my car that sits in the garage a lot I didn't think it could be that bad

I'm always impressed with the camera on my 5s. I cannot believe some of the shots I come away with.

Yeah I will, but I'll honestly give it one track day, it'll be interesting to see how it holds up after a track day

What happened to using opti-coat? Cquartz is a great coating. Are you using the regular ceramic or DLUX? just make sure you wipe thoroughly with IPA before applying

I put dlux on the wheels of a DD 535 about 6 months ago and still no bonded brake dust.

Sorry not a great pic like the others, but this was after a good downpour. Car has been opti-coated to give it this bliss!
