Best shop for m3 near Boston?

I am looking for a one-stop shop near Boston where my m3 can get maintenance and also mild modification (i.e. exhaust, tune...etc). Dealerships are obviously excluded. Any suggestions?

Nashua shop in need

So the three places I called and left messages to estimate a rod bearing replacement never got back to me. Any recommendations on a shop to do that job near Nashua nh 08 m3.

Thanks

VSR is capable but probably expensive. It’s not rocket science. It requires care and patience more than skill. It’s a full day job. I did mine myself in my barn about 4 years ago. Chris Anger at Candia Road Auto in Manchester has done them, but he does not have a fancy shop. If you want a manicure and latte, you would have to pay more and go elsewhere.

I don’t care about fancy ness I just want the job done right. I want to do clutch bearings and mounts all at same time I am thinking between 4 to 5 k maybe? 131k on the car so it’s time for all that to be done.

For the 08 clutch you must update to the later clutch and buy a flywheel. To do everything on your list, I think parts alone would be in the $2k range and labor in the range of 2 full days.

Unless it's slipping, you don't need to bother with a new clutch.

Then I would leave it for another job in the future. There is not a lot of labor overlap between rod bearings and clutch.

Gotcha. Vsr wins the dilemma of getting bearings done. They were actually right on point at estimate of 2200 with mounts and be bearings. This was crazy to get a quote done though by anyone. I can’t believe these shops couldn’t use 2 or 3 grand job just to ignore a person in person, phone or email. Out of the 7 shops I targeted only bimmer innashua and vsr replyed.

I know these shops.. Summertime in New England is tough.. they are overloaded with work sometimes several weeks out.. if someone can schedule you right away for this type of work i'd be a little suspicious.

Winter is different.. race cars are usually sleeping..
