How to keep ignition on, with engine off?
Hi guys
I'm planning on install INPA next weekend and start doing some learning on it with the car, so I guess I'll need the car to be ignition on, but can't keep the engine running all day long or so. So, how do I keep the car from shutting off automatically after those 10 or 20 minutes? |

I believe I read somewhere that fastening the driver's seatbelt does the trick. Could be wrong though so you may want to look into it further. I did an entire i-level update which took hours - no issues. Had the battery hooked up to another car on the drivweay (which was running).

I'm not sure if this wold work on a DCT, but on a 6spd manual, you can hit the start button twice (without pushing the clutch).
The first time will turn on iDrive... The second push will turn on ignition (activate dash, etc), but engine won't turn over unless you have the clutch engaged. |
