Thumbs up Ordering 2009 E92 M3

Quick question to someone who might know. When you go to your Local BMW Retailer. And want to order a 2009 BMW M3 DCT with all options possible. Does the retailer look for the car within the country, or do they have to order it directly from germany ? and if that is the case how long does it take to receive the BMW. Im in Canada by the way.

answers much appreciated.

When I went to the BMW dealer, the specific & exact options I wanted on my car were not available on any car anywhere on their database from any other dealership. Therefore, I placed an order with my exact options. It appears that the process takes about two months from order time to delivery. But... you have to keep in mind that dealerships are allocated a limited number of special order slots. My dealership was allocated only 6 during a certain period.

Usually they order from Germany. In my case it took 1 month from production completion to delivery. (Built Sept. 5th, got in on Oct. 4th.) However, this was faster than normal and does not take into account how long you have to wait in line before your car gets built. This depends on your dealers size and how many cars BMW allocates to them.

both. if your spec is available somewhere else in canada they might trade with another dealership. you can also opt to have it built.

Alright, sounds not too bad. The only thing is when buying from dealer the cars seem to have slightly more km/miles on it then when you order it from germany. Atleast thats the impression i have from reading this forum. So even if they find a car somewhere else in canada, but it has let's say 400km on it, while i want one that only has 7-20km on it. Do they do special consideration and order on then from germany ?

just order from Germany... you'll get the latest and best improvements in mfr'ing... usually. SOmetimes you also get a cost reduction that you would't want that might be hidden...
