Prices dropping into the teens
It seems that this winter, a lot of the local dealers started dropping asking prices for E9xs into the teens. Here's a high-miler for under $18K. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/c...071208770.html I haven't seen the car and don't now anything about it other than what is in the ad, but I've seen several that were for sale late last year at over 20K that have just re-appeared for under that amount. Apparently they don't sell too fast and sit on used car lots for extended periods of time.
A good running clean title M3 seems like a lot of car for the money. |

I've been keeping an eye on things, too, and maybe I'm wrong but it feels like - despite a few outliers on the top and bottom ends - prices are holding relatively steady in the mid to high $20Ks. Sure, some high mileage, salvage title, engine rebuilds, etc... will start to scrape into the bottom. But well maintained and/or lower mileage - and especially rare specs - are seeming to hold strong around the $30K mark, give or take.
My subjective take. |

Prices are definitely dropping on the higher mileage cars. The only issue with this is the history on them. My assumption is that I'd need to invest $5k to get the car up to date on maintenance at that mileage

I agree. Despite a recent hiccup that most cars would have at its age, my 08 with 111K on it has been pretty reliable after I spent a couple grand getting it up to snuff. It's been my daily driver going on three years.
