Opinions on Nitto Invo's
I'm thinking about trying these out. If you've run these, please comment on your experiences with them. BTW, I'm currently running Hankook V12's, so not really looking for the typical "hankooks are the best bang for the buck" comment I'm looking for a tire with a rounder sidewall than the Hankook offers.
Would be interested if you've run both the Invo's and V12's or Invo's and Toyo T1R's and how you compare them |

I used to run PS2's. In no way do they have round sidewalls. In fact, they run wide. I run very aggressive offsets, and so need a tire with a rounded sidewall.

I have to disagree. I have had 2 sets of PS2's on previous cars as well as 2 sets of Latitude Sports on 2 SUVs (basically a load rated max performance SUV version of the PS2). In now way, shape, or form are these a wide/square edged tire. Both my cars were lowered on aftermarket suspensions with aggressive offset aftermarket wheels and I did fine with the PS2's.

ok, relatively speaking then, they are square when compared to a toyo.
And I know everyone has a different defition of what aggressive is or what a rounded sidewall is, but this is my setup: |

As for someone who has owned Mich PS2s to the OEM Contis and even on my 2nd set of Nitto Invos (well rears anyway) I think I can give a good educated review on the Invos. I don't think they are as good as the PS2s or the PSS's right off the bat I will get that out of the way. They are better than the Hankooks, drove a M3 with the Hankooks and I felt the Invos were so much better.
Also, the Invos or Nittos in general need a good couple of heat cyclings to get the mold release agent out of the tread. It took 400 or so miles until I felt them firm up, and when they did they feel great. Up until that point they feel real greasy. However, in regards to the PS2s which were so expensive I chose the Invos over the PS2s just because the performance is not that far off of the PS2s. On the street you would be hard pressed to really discern a difference. The Invos are great for your canyon carving sessions and I have had no issues with the tires at all, other than they do wear fast but then again so does the Mich PS2s and other tires of said ilk. I do feel they (Invos) are better than the Contis that came on the car, it may be a tad unfair comparison as I went a +1 with the Invos in a 255/285 setup. They are extremely quiet and they look amazing. If you want to track with the Invos tire pressure is so important with these tires or you will shred them to bits. Also, you have to bring these tires to temp before you just go all out at a DE. I have never tracked this car so I can't comment on this aspect of the Invo. I do know several ZO6 guys that have tracked with this tire and they love the tire. It seems the Invo in the wider sizes get better reviews than in the smaller widths. If you want a track tire you should get a dedicated track tire. With street tires you never want to be all out you will just shred them. If you keep it at a 80% capacity level you will have no issues with the Invos. All this being said I will move on to a Mich PSS for several reasons. I may more to a 10" front and 11" rear to facilitate a 275/30/19 front and a 295/30/19 rear. The PSSs are available in these sizes and the price on these is not that far off of the Invos for the same sizes (305s for the Invo, no 295 avail). Or I may just keep the OEM sizes and do the 275/295 setup on the OEM ZCP wheel. Dave

I had Invo's (235/35/19 F and 275/30/19 R) on my 335i for 2,500 miles before the rears went bald and I was happy to see them go. Horrible tire....loud + a lot less grip and predictability at the track. Off the line traction was horrible...even with an aftermarket LSD.
I switched to PSS's and they are sooo much better. Quiet, terrific wet traction, much more predictable at the track...and off-the-line traction is insane. I can get 0-60 in 3.5 seconds as recorded on my V-Box. I would have never been able to dip in the 3.X second range with the Invo's.

Tell this to the ZO6 crowd and Viper cars that are deep in the 10s at 145+mph with Nitto Invos...my experience is completely different.
Can't do this unless the tire has grip.. Dave

I ran invos on my Audi and hated them. (road noise, rough ride) Im running V12s now On my M and love them. At first I was like Hankooks? really? but im glad Ben from wheelsboutique recommended me the Hankooks. I also know a lot of people that have had issues with invos bubbling up and popping

i ran a set of invos before, i must say for the price, they are a hell of a tire, they definitely hook up, and hey, the thread pattern looks kinda cool too.
i won't be needing tires for a while, but i will definitely consider them again when the time comes.
