WTB: Ess 650 pulley

Hey everyone, I purchased a 625 kit but want a little more boost out of it. If no one has one does anyone know who sells them or know how I could get one made? Thanks in advance!

The 650 kit uses a different size crank pulley and supercharger pulley than a 625 kit. I have heard of some ppl running a smaller pulley (94mm I believe) to achieve the same boost numbers as the 650. You can get them from vortech direct then custom machined to fit.

Just buy a 3.700 pulley from summit racing and a 4060832 belt. Can get it back machined for a small amount of money

I'm pretty sure it is a 2120mm belt. At least that's the belt I just installed and it works perfectly. Also the 96.5mm on pulley with 2120mm belt is the information I got from ESS just a few weeks ago.

Right on man, I bought a used kit and it was missing a few things and the pulley numbers were only partially legible the instructions from ess says 2130mm but maybe that's for a bigger pulley. I haven't looked too closely at the bracket for the tensioners, it must be fixed and not adjustable..

I also bought a used kit and when I did a bit of research it seems like the original kit had a different set up. The VT2 is where a bigger pulley got used, as I understand it, it was 94mm. While the 650 kit has a bigger pulley and a different crank pulley. I can say with an xpipe, stock exhaust, and 96.5mm I am running 7psi. I have hit 9psi at it seems when have a bit of fun with DSC off.

WTB: Ess 650 pulley

Yeah I can read it now it says ESS Tuning s65/6 96.5mm. I need a blow off valve for it, the race one I'm guessing vents to atmosphere, the recirc one that is typically included with the kit comes with a recirculating flange and silicone hose that attaches to the air box. I don't have either, not sure to get a bolt on maxflow race valve and cap the intake or get the ess valve and source the hose. Suggestions? TIA

Correct, the stock newest version is the 96.5 pulley although I measured mine before going to the 650 and it is 96 not 96.5. The belt for that pulley is a 4060835. It is a 83.5" belt, the 650 is the 94 with 4060832 (83.2")

what size injectors did you kit come with. the 625kit are white or black 37lb injectors. the 650kit uses 42lb injectors which are blue. If you have no upgraded injectors I would hold off on the pulley upgrade.

How do you guys remove the pulley? Do you use a keyway? I think I finally figured out why I can't read my pulley numbers. Whoever owned it before me obviously tried to remove the pulley without the proper tools! The joys of used stuff...

Prevent the pulley from spinning and the bolt should come out. Then you will see the keyway.

I know this isnt the correct thread (forum) but the black ones are fine for the 650. Just need to have it tuned, call Mike at BPM.

The black injectors that come with the Ess kit are 37lb injectors, on a 650 you should be using at least 42lb injectors. If you put the car on a 650pulley and dyno it you will see at the top of the band the car start to go lean. So at least do 42lb injectors

If your kit didn’t come with big enough injectors I have 7 42lb injectors id let go for cheap. You can buy the missing injector for $55 but according to Mike (from bpm) it’ll need to be machined. I didn’t find that info til after I paid 1k for new injectors from VF

I'm just going to run my kit on the normal pulley until this summer and then maybe I'll upgrade.
