I basically drove 150 miles to the airstrip, ran my car over and over and over again about 8 times, and immediately drove home. Basically driving anywhere from 80-90 mph on the street and up to 150mph on the airstrip, my car never really had a good break throughout almost 12 hours other than between runs. The highest oil temp I saw all day was about 226 logged by my Awron gauge. Hope this helps until I can get to the track for anyone considering it. The quality looked great and it was an easy choice for me with the blower especially given the M24 oil cooler is over double in price.
awesome info right there.

nice peice too OP.

Sorry Alex, I was on my iPhone and didn't see the bottom of the grid. The date, time and track for each grid would be helpful to try to normalize the data.

Also in for group buy. Any plans to do an uprated power-steering cooler and radiator?

Regarding the extra oil capacity, how much of those 2 quarts remain trapped in the cooler when you do an oil change? If most remains trapped, then it would seem that you wouldn't need to add significantly more oil during changes than before (unless you have a means to extract the oil in the cooler).

I have one of the first oil cooler installed on my car and I tracked it twice so far. Oil temps are more stable did not pass 240. After replacing my rod bearing I wanted any that will improve the oil life. This oil cooler does it perfectly, specially for the price point. On street driving I have gone on canyon cruise with the gf on a hot day with AC on and temp were spot on. I really have appreciated the improvements.

Perhaps you should get the ball rolling by doing an introductory group buy deal...?

Well I will say this. You got the mounting points right. I imagine the plastic shield above the OE oil cooler has to be cut significantly?

Thanks we tried!

The plastic piece has to be slightly trimmed to fit our cooler. We are also going to release a smaller version with 10 oil line rows that will fit without any modifications.

We are currently testing it to see how much difference it will make.

The test data doesn’t show any outside/ambient temperature at 100°F (i.e. SoCal desert tracks during summer months). Not even 90+ °F data.

The only thing I can extrapolate from those data is that, at ~73°F outside/ambient temperature, Alekshop oil cooler seems to run around 20 to 25°F cooler than stock oil cooler. From that, then, it can be projected that Alekshop oil cooler might run at around 255~260°F when outside/ambient termperature is 95+ °F, which if true, would be awesome. But, I’d still want to see data from track sessions actually run at 95+ °F outside/ambient temperature.

So if I'm reading this right, with stock and company X coolers, you've pushed the car up to 120+ MPH throughout the session and ran lap times in the 1:4x range.

With your own cooler however you hardly ever got past 105 mph and ran 2min+ lap times.

How do you come up with the conclusion that your cooler is effective and that it wasn't just driving easier and slower that resulted in lower temps?

I'll be the first to just mention that "hotter" oil isn't a terrible thing, especially when you're running Syrup for motor oil!

This was explained above. The track with the new cooler was a shorter, tighter more technical track.

The relevant metric is RPM, not MPH. I can keep the car above 6k RPM in third gear and cook the oil just much as 6k RPM in fifth gear, even though I'd be traveling much slower.

In fact, high RPMs at slower speed would produce higher oil temps than those same RPMs at higher speeds since there would be less airflow over the cooler in the first scenario.

Well if that's the case don't you think that throws everything off? I mean that's kinduva big variable.

In other words if you were to test a new tire, would you go to the same track all the other tires were tested or not? If not how valid would the test be?
