When I purchased my car last year I quickly discovered the FRM3 module was corrupted (or failed with no issues).
After the BayOptik install my dash started displaying a periodic error message which leads me to the conclusion that my BayOptik rebuild was going to require a fix in order to code this module (brighter DTMs, etc)
For the newer folks on our forum, our cars' FRM3 module is covered by an extended warranty for 10 years/150,000 miles as a result of a class action lawsuit years ago.
A trip to the dealer today confirmed I'm covered for 3 more weeks. What are the odds of that!
I have an appointment Monday.

A comparison pic. White is brighter but I prefer the amber especially at dusk.

Note lights were not done by bay optics.

Looks so good!

Agree, the amber looks incredible, especially at dusk/dawn.

What precise issues were you having that you deduced a faulty FRM?

(I've been trying to fix my M for over a month, had all kinds of wacky electrical issues for a week before the immobilizer kicked in and now just cranks/no starts).

Prior to the headlight upgrade I would get a critical error message when trying to code this module and was unable to proceed. After the install I get a reoccurring (but inconsistent) pop-up error on the instrument cluster. It usually clears itself, but from what I've read it can get worse and stuff will stop working correctly.

Hmm my windows keep jittering up and down an 1/8th of an inch. Wondering if that's a symptom...

That's what I've read- plenty of posts on here if you search FRM3

Ok, I'm out of the next round...picked up some new headlights yesterday while I have the car apart and in the shop.

Keep the cool picks coming though! Enjoy seeing what you have and the different options/styles.
