295 Ps4s in the rear ok for track?
I have a new set of F14s wheels 10 inch fronts and 11 in the rear. My car is mostly street but I think I will do 3-4 track days a year. I have 275/30/19s PS4 in the back now and was thinking of moving them to the front and getting 295/30s for the back but my concern is that 295 might be a bit wide/heavy for track use. Am I right? the other option is to get 285 for the rear but that would mess would handling of the car (I think) since I'd have 275 in the fronts. Any help would be appreciated. I could get a new set of tires but I want to hold on to the 275s since they are virtually new. Thanks.

275/295 keeps the same front-to-rear offset as stock, but a non-stock offset isn't necessarily bad. It will depend on how the car is setup and your driving competence. A bigger tire will be able to handle heat better, but it adds unsprung weight. You are also potentially changing the effective gearing even further.
3 or 4 track days per year isn't really that many, in my opinion, so don't solution for a situation you're in for 1% of your driving miles. If you decide to get more serious, I suspect you'll end up with dedicated track wheels anyway.

I think you'll be just fine. The best advice for tracking is 'run what you brung' and worry more about learning and improving your skills than getting to the perfect mod level

OP - what is your rear offset? That's the bigger concern. You need to make sure the 295 will actually fit.

As a casual HPDE person, are you even driving the car at 10/10ths where you'll notice a small difference in tire size? Probably not.

But as Slicer said, offset can make a difference. I run 275/30/19 front and 295/30/19 rear . . |

I've recently become a fan of just running 275's square and tuning throttle-on balance with spacers rather than carry the extra tire around, which I'm not convinced you need unless you're supercharged. I'm all about whatever I've done most recently though, so you can safely ignore me

I ran 275 and 295/30/19 as my street setup for years with the occasional track day thrown in. It's fine. You'll rub inside, but that's the price you pay!
As others side, big wheels/tires are heavy, which means higher rotational mass at the corners, which can spoil handling. I run 18" square now and it's a thing of beauty, even on the street. |

The fronts aren't in question. You were asking about fitting 295's in the rear. The rear offset is what we need to know in order to let you know if it will fit.

what about 270/30 upfront (will do a conservative drop with Dinan springs). 19x10 (+20)?

It will fit great but I would plan on camber plates. You will need approximately -2 to -2.2 camber with that front fitment.
