picked up bbs lm in 20" about a month back
having second thoughts about running them on my car as its my daily driver. what is everyone elses thoughts on running 20s on a daily driver. Roads here are not horrible but today got a tiny rock chip in one of them and i just cant stop thinking about it

I would not. I tried a set for a few days and they had to come off. I do not the like the fact the car does everything slower (braking, accelerating, turning) they really are rough.
I know it is all up to personal preference but the roads here in Raleigh are not even bad compared to some other areas in the US I have had the pleasure to drive on |

I have the same dilemma. 20s seem to have a scary low amount of rubber, and most require stretched tires which mean even less protection. Negative camber is another issue. I think I'm going to end up with 19s until I get a big enough car that retain enough rubber with 20s.

Both my wife and I roll on 20s daily, I can not remember the last time I was not on 20s, and shes been on 20s for four years now, not a single bend or pop, depends on cast wheels or forged, people always hear about their buddies cheap cast wheels cracking or bending, you will not hear too much about forged wheels getting hurt.
Rock chips you have to deal with, they come maybe once every few years for me. |

I have finally learned that if you have a car that you plan to actually drive you will get rock chips, etc. and there is nothing you can do about it. Curbing a wheel is your fault and can be avoided but a minor chip or scrape WILL happen on its own. Just enjoy the wheels!

If you are in areas where there is no snow, and roads are paved with minor imperfections and potholes you have memorized -- 20s are fine in my opinion. I think you can get away with 19s without a lip and it does not look to bad...19s with a lip do look at bit small although I generally like the look with our m3s...if you plan on moving to NY/NJ/PA area -- even baltimore, where I live now....no 20s for daily driving...unless you want to get pulled over for swerving constantly.

20's if you get a high quality, forged wheel. I have 20" Volk G2's (forged) and have had great results so far. If you go with something cast you have a higher chance of bending it (on average).
