New M3

So, I bought a new M3. It is a 2013 Mineral White Over extended Fox Red ZCP. It is a DCT car with 24k miles on it. I’ve added a Dinan CAI, Borla S-Type exhaust, 12/15mm spacers, extended paddle shifters, Angel Eyes and +1 on the MPS’. I sold my MR e93 today and it was bitter sweet. It had 97k miles on it and was pretty much spotless. Loved that car, but I wanted a ZCP with these exact specs, so I pulled the trigger. Pics:

Wow, last year production with 24k miles, congratulations Wildwest! Remember you where debating wether change your car, seems you took the plunge in a good way.
Quite a few differences vs your old pearl, keep us updated on how you find it to not have a cab, DCT and differences with ZCP.
Oh, and how do you find the Borla S? On the car when you bought it?

Cheers

First impressions: The 2013 seems to be a different animal. It seems much smoother/tighter then the 2008 engine wise. Not sure if it is a first vs. last production year thing (i.e. changes?) or what it is. My 2008 was a bit more "raw" if that term works. I basically raped it and put parts on the 2013 (Dinan CAI, Borla, Angel Eyes, Paddle Shifters, Wheel Spacers, MPSS'). The car came with the MPE on it, but it was way to quiet compared to the Borla so I swapped them. I hated the Perelli's, so swapped the MPSS' as well. Funny thing, the 2013 is still quieter then the 2008 with the Borla on it?? Also, my 2008 must have had the DCT tune on it b/c it shifts much faster/harder then the 2013. I'll be putting the GTS tune on it post haste.

Now for the good (or bad?)...this car will break loose (even with traction control on) in 1st, 2nd and beginning of 3rd. My 2008 would not do that. Both cars pull hard once rolling, but the ZCP is more tricky on launch. Probably a weight thing. I'm not sure I notice that much difference in corners with the coupe vs. convertible. My 2008 was pretty well planted and really didn't seem to flex as much as some complain about.

So...bottom line, I'm glad I made the switch. I'm pretty sure I'll miss putting the top down in the summer, but I plan on making up for that by doing a few track days per year. While I don't buy into the whole rod bearing thing very much, I am happy to set the clock back with a 24K mile car. Hopefully the 2013 will be as solid as the 2008. I drove it like it was intended to be driven from 59-97K miles and it never missed a beat. Zero issues at all. I love these cars and really wanted the CF roof, ZCP and Extended Fox Red leather.

Cheers mate, sounds like good fun! Could breaking lose easier have to do with the slightly lighter car? Which I was around and I'd buy the MPE. Tried to Borla S and it was waay to boomy for me, shows the differences in taste! Anyways, seem you've got an absolut pearl man!

What a beauty and much less common that the AW/FR combo (which is still one of the best combo's IMHO)! Congrats!

Congrats OP - a nice combo and a very clean car, what's not to like? Now go rack up some miles! I've been out misbehaving for 6 hours and when you turn heads from 2-3 blocks away you know the MPE is hard at work!

Congrats! Glad to see another e93 to e92 upgrade on here. The e93 is a great car but the e92 beats it in every way except for the top down experience. You will love it for sure, enjoy in good health!
