That is just dumb... Obviously if someone has the V1 intake kit, it is proof enough that they have purchased it. Unless it was stolen? LOL

If they're aware of the issues with V1 why would they take it? Sad when a company won't stand behind its products. I guess the request for a receipt means they'll only replace it for the orig owner, not if you bought it used - it shouldn't matter because someone orig paid them for it - again, sad. I'll never buy any MS products.

Would actually be better if they got the defective unit back than worrying about receipt nonsense. It can only be returned once that way.

The fitting for the pvc valve popped off on my stock intake. It is now attached with gorilla glue.

Changes were also made to the rotomolded portion and couplers. Systems are relatively problem-free and make significant (and consistent) power on the dyno.

Gentlemen,

Please email me directly (email is in my signature) so we can work on these issues and have the components replaced immediately.

Right, lets not all jump on the EAS bandwagon just yet.

I emailed Tom on a couple of occasions regarding these issues and was told that I had to provide a receipt. Seems that EAS is changing its tune secondary to all these complaints. Not sure why I was not offered the same courtesy.

I should disclose that I was offered a new charge pipe at a discounted but not insignificant price, but decided that I would be crazy to hand MS more money.

I read that Eurotuner article. That is where I got my basis from.

I suppose every dyno on any given day is different. So maybe Eurotuner had bad luck. Either way I dont plan on replacing a perfectly well designed part, especially when it is $400-500+ for less than 10 hp and tq gains. I'd rather spend that towards some wheels or other goodies that would provide significantly greater utility to me

To each their own...

Read the article...they stated they felt there was an issue with the dyno. The car baselined at 288rwhp and it didn't go all the way to 8k+rpm.

Wether its a AFE, MS or someother intake that is using the OEM airbox its not going to get much more than this. I do believe however that once you go down the road of removed primary cats and a tune it could be more beneficial than on a OEM car.

Look forward to see what mods you are going to do.

Too bad these things need to be made public before a company tries to respond and help a customer. Same type of experience I had with Morr.

What, if anything, ever happened with all this?

Since pulling my car out of winter storage a week ago, my intake elbow has popped off 4 times! I'm afraid to drive hard or downshift and I'm constantly popping my hood to make sure it's still on. I've even started carrying the neccessary tools to get it back on when I'm away from home.

Intake has been reinstalled and I've tried various tightness on the clamps, all to no avail.

I run MS stg2 intake from EAS. No issues at all. Just dont get too crazy when tightening clamps.

Installed and purchased back in September 2011.
