The thing with rare individual color cars is that most buyers that are willing to pay up want a lower mile example. Makes me hesitant to drive mine but then I got it dirt cheap compared to today's market so guess I shouldn't feel bad.

Dang I was close! Makes sense with what I at least saw maybe more saw it the same way but the market is interesting these days. Could have went for more, only takes 2 people who want it and could go up a few more thousand.

Looking at the comments looks like most agreed value at or around 30k. BaT ended at 31k

Unless the highest bidder is or was willing to come up to mid 30's and you two agreed on a deal? I'm curious what the outcome will be

Based on the listing, the car needs ~5k of love to get it resprayed, re clear coat the roof, fix up interior, headlight, etc.

This way you are getting a fresh individual 100k miles car for 40k (assuming tax, registration and fixes)

Perhaps, not a bad deal but still seems like a lot of money

The potential downfall of a BaT listing is that if it doesn't sell. The market has effectively set a price on the car, keeping in mind their bidders are vetted with cash in hand etc.. Once the VIN is online its going to come up in a search. That can hurt the prospect of selling post auction via other sources if a buyer does their due diligence.
