I guess we will take a peak and see if everything is clean.

Thanks for the info!

Update on my rough idle and weird random bounce drops

Jordan slapped in the new fuel injectors, brand new from https://eeuroparts.com/

The price is rising!

https://eeuroparts.com/product/bosch/62418

They were $5-8 a few months ago

Night and day difference.
  • No more misfire or vibrating engine (car idles so smooth now)
  • No Check Engine Warning Light (The ECU triggers the warning light when the injector is delivering too much or too little fuel.)
  • No more long crank times, the engine fired right up
  • No more of the vehicle not starting with a full tank of gas, sometimes I would have a drop in idle or bounce if the car did start
  • Power delivery is linear, shifted through all the gears. 1-6 at 6-8 RPM. All power is there.
  • Feels like a new car

I am pissed for not doing it when the rough idle started, I experienced it a few years ago, it just got worst over time. I thought it was bad gas. I should have known to change my fuel injectors.

Rough Idle
If your car’s idle noise has changed and feels rougher, the fuel injectors may not be delivering fuel as they should. As with misfiring, this is normally down to the injector nozzles being clogged with particles, which interfere with the atomisation and spray of the fuel.

Several faults can cause a rough idle noise, including a bad spark plug or a dirty air filter, but clogged injectors are one of the most common reasons for this.

Poor Fuel Economy
A faulty fuel injector can lead to a significant drop in fuel economy. This is because the ECU is calling for more fuel from the injector but not receiving it in the combustion chamber. The less fuel reaches the engine, the lower your fuel economy.

You may experience poor fuel economy when the injectors are clogged or leaking.

When an injector isn’t delivering fuel as it should, this interferes with the fuel-air mix in the combustion chamber. As a result, some fuel isn’t burnt off – meaning more harmful emissions are sent to the exhaust system.

(this is why exhaust smelled like crap all the time ) The strong smell of fumes seems lighter.
  • I did get down to 11MPG, I thought it was normal for S65 to get this fuel range.
  • We did throw money at the car and changed all kind of stuff before we changed the injectors but whatever hahahahaha.
I can track happy again.

Thank you everyone for their input!

Not only did that gas station take your lunch in fuel cost, it also wrecked your lip. A fricking tragedy for sure. I only go ebay lips. Fitment is good enough and I know I'll break it eventually. About to order my 4th lol.

Turn8 - 01/29/2022 Thunderhill Thunderschleife 5 Mile

Catching up on pics!
  • This was sooo fuuuun!!! I made so many mistakes but it's all part of learning!
  • 5 Mile doesn't come around a lot!
  • My buddies at TDW were also hosting this event alongside Turn8 since they are a new sponsor
  • TDW was giving out free track sessions, so I got to drive and meet a lot of new buddies!
  • I believe this was also the first time Davisca455 went on a 5M though he didn't bring his car.
  • Big group this time, the caravan was big! 7 cars long!
  • Jordan was leading the pack and hit something that flew at all of us that were following closely behind, all good

  • Fast drivers all around me!

  • First Session for this driver and Red Flag, I have no idea, he went off course, I didn't see him join other sessions. Might be something wrong with the car.

  • Roof wrap

  • I don't know who it is, but someone throwing nails on track!

Videos!

Goodbye Thunderhill Thunderschleife 5 Mile, till next time!

That just looks like a basic map sensor. Does it come back immediately when you clear it

Yeah, I think it’s dirty, I have read around these suppose to last the life of the car. If not longer. But I do have a new one on order.

I’ll clean it first and see what happens.

Just replace it if you're going to remove it. It's a bit of a pain to squeeze back, but nothing too difficult. I think I disconnected the secondary fan to free up some space.

The cleaning has been done, the new part will not come in time before track day this weekend.

I'll save it for now when or if the CEL comes back for this.

We cleaned the heck out of it. Flushed it to the max, looks like a brand new part now.

There was so much gunk and crap on it. No wonder the car didn't feel like it was breathing. Cleared the CEL, didn't' come back on.

Any improvements?

YES!!
  • Feels mighty!!
  • Maor Power!!
  • Pulls are out of this world!!
  • Feels like I gained 100 HP+
  • We threw so many parts at the car, it's almost brand new!!

P0106 code
P0106 code will be generally preceded by the Check Engine Light coming on the dashboard display. The vehicle in most cases will not run well, idle poorly, accelerate erratically, run rich, and backfire because the MAP sensor and throttle position sensor will not operate together properly.

The P0106 code will result in poor running of the engine and requires immediate attention. Have the vehicle diagnosed as soon as possible. The MAP sensor issue can cause excessive fuel consumption, rough operation and difficulty starting in certain circumstances, and can cause other damage if continued to be driven.

Solved it for now!

Ronald at Autosolutions said my shifter is on the way.

Who knows how to install this bad boy quickly?!

I heard it makes the car like a gated shifter!
