Quick cheap rotor review

I can't attest to their longevity because they're brand new, but I recently purchased the Bendix brakes for our cars. They're on Rock Auto, but I was able to find them slightly cheaper on eBay. Rock Auto has them for about 45 or 50 each, but shipping made it cost more than eBay would have.

Anyway, I ordered these expecting blanks. To my surprise, they came cross drilled identical to stock! They're dead quiet with the pads I use and have no issues so far after doing some hard bedding in on them. Honestly for a couple hundred bucks for a set of nice looking rotors that get the job done, how can you complain? Here are the part #'s if anyone is interested.

I originally just found them by looking at rotors under an 08 M3 on Rock Auto.

They are still heavier than stock because they are one piece, but few would be able to notice the effect of that weight on handling.

Ebay is showing $246 shipped for all 4 rotors w/tax. That's a steep discount over the 2 piece. I was looking to do my rears but at that price if the performance is near stock I'd likely go for fronts too.

The stock rotors are not exactly a true two-piece, it's just a dual-casting IIRC.

Two-piece would mean a separate hub and friction surface that bolt together, usually made out of different materials.

ive been using mine for more than 2000 miles and it feels the same.. the only thing that i notice is that the center piece gets rusty since it didnt have any zinc coating so if you guys are getting one you should paint the center before installing the rotors

I've got them on my car and I've had it on track twice with these rotors. They have held up just fine, but being that they're one piece, once they get really hot you can hear them rub a little, notably when I'm coming back into pits after my session.

So, in short, they work fine. The hubs do rust and it looks like shit, but if you're on a budget, they work. I'll be going back to OEM soon for weight difference and to get rid of ugly hubs...
