Key Fob Signal Strange... After new windshield.

Anyone have this issue, had the front windshield replaced and headliner dropped in the process.

Once everything was reinstalled by the body shop, my keyfob signal is no longer the same.
From the front of the car, it has a delay and the range is terrible for unlocking and locking.

From the rear of the car, everything works perfectly. Any ideas?

It shouldn't really affect anything. I've unlocked my car 22 stories up on a balcony, only to relock it.

Does the windshield have some kind of tint in it at the top? Tints can cause interference.

No tints, was a factory glass from BMW. All the work was done at a "certified BMW bodyshop". Whatever that means.

Change the battery in your fob for $4 and see if it gets better. The only things affected by a poor window replacement would be KZD module features like rain sensor, defroster sensor etc.

The key works perfectly fine from the rear, but not the front.
Is there any reason why?

It's a proximity device. If battery is low the proximity field is much smaller. Also which pocket is your key in? Back pocket will not fair well as your body may impede the signal. I carry my key in right pocket and reach for handle with right hand.

replaced it with a brand new battery.
unlocking the car from a distance still won't work properly from the front of the car, but from the rear, I can unlock the car from a very far distance.

This issue only happened only after the body shop replaced the windshield.

There is an antenna in the center of the dash actually. I just looked up an old thread. #3

Same thing happened to mine. I agree it's very very odd. But mine worked perfectly until my cracked windshield had to be replaced. Your description is identical to mine. It's very annoying to say the least. I'm not on the forum a whole lot but feel free to PM me if you find anything out!

Anyone know how to get access to that antenna?

Guys thanks for the help, the car went to the dealership and found out that one of the antennas was disconnected.
They didn't say which one... So I can't really report back which one. They checked up on the inside of the headliner.

hmmm, that's amazing. I wish there were a way to test the antennas... I've had terrible luck with comfort access since the day I picked the car up and BMW has not been able to fix it - and I gave up. I only have a few feet of range from the keyfob and the driver's side door unlocking is extremely weak where the passenger door works a ton better. They've replaced the door handle antenna, that wasn't it. I have an old thread about this somewhere, no solution.
Would be great to know which antenna was disconnected, or where all the connectors are. I have the comfort access PDF somewhere, too, but that was no real help about cable locations or ways to isolate and test them.
Helmsman, great documents. Thanks.

There are 3 sensors, one in the front of the car which does the front end. One in the middle that does the left and right signal, and then one that does the rear signal.
The sensors won't throw errors even if they are unplugged or wire is cut cause its just a radio signal antenna kinda like your wifi. the wifi works and just becomes weak even if you don't have the antennas screwed in.
