Getting the car detailed next week. Should probably knock this out before hand so I don't need to take the interior apart to do the firmware upgrade afterwards...

Have a look through the update process, mine is mounted in place of the OEM cd changer location in the glovebox in my e60. I mounted it with the SD card port facing out, however I still had to remove the box as the power cable and FO cable have to be removed for the update process.

I got the "new" variant with DSP and would have NcsExpert / Tool32 / Inpa on my laptop & also a DCAN cable, connection to the car also works without problems, where in NcsExpert I find the setting with headunit and CDMM_CHANGER_3?
With Bimmercode seems to be easy, but would not like to spend grad 40€ for it because I just have all the other stuff already.

It's in the CIC module. If you haven't used NCS expert before. Probably best to watch a few YouTube videos or get someone to show you.

i did it <3 its working now, but wow... sound is rly... bad like listening from AUX, is that normal?
i have zero Bass, i mean i ordered the blue box, its coming in 1-2 days, to test how to coding i was testing the black box, is that normal that the black box (p2000) has zero bass? I mean the company advertises that they are the only ones with very good sound, or the sound of the vehicle itself

Is that in bimmercode? Are you in expert mode?

The lack of bass is why the new DSP box exists. (blue box). Fixes the problem.

In the first few seconds you realize how much better the device runs than these Android devices.... I can even listen to the songs via USB & use Carplay at the same time, which is not possible with the Android devices, the operation, even the speed, much better than the other devices.

Looking forward to the blue box.

I am going to attempt to code it using ncs expert. I was just wondering if someone could lay out the steps since I have literally never touched the application. Bimmercode just says ecu not supported. How would I go about properly coding it into ncs?

Give this video a watch, it was helpful.

Essentially you need to code the CIC module. You need to change the value of CDMM_CHANGER_3 to mp3_cdc from whatever it was set at before.

Watch the video and it should make a bit more sense.

Firstly, I'd like to start out by saying I took delivery of the e93 m3 about a week ago.

The first purchase I made was the CCC carplay unit by Mr12Volt. (https://www.mr12volt.com/collections...-interface-dsp)

My 2008 E93 M3 has the old, all silver iDrive knob. I went about installing all of the kit, everything seemed to be fine after the install, I also installed a reverse camera. Once I booted the car up, I had a warning light for SOS system malfunction. I also had no sound from AM/FM radio. I then went to code the system with bimmercode. When I got to the headunit option, there were two pages to enter. One was greyed out and said "ecu not supported". The other had lots of options, but no option for 3000 HMI. Nowhere in bimmercode could I find 3000 HMI to code my unit. After lots of troubleshooting, I removed the entire mr12volt system and returned the car to stock. This removed my SOS malfunction and returned my sound. When I went to see if I could now code the option, I was still met with the "ecu not supported" on the headunit.

On top of all of this when I booted up the car, a code p161f was thrown, so unless someone has different input, I assume my throttle actuator just gave out.

Here is my dilemma, I am forced with trying to get help from the forums here, which I would rather do and get it figured out, because I am stumped. I am willing to phone call if anyone else is who would be willing.

OR, I can take it to a car audio shop and have them install a unit, which I would rather not have done, especially since bimmercode gives no option for 3000 HMI.

So, my questions here are:
Where can I find 3000 HMI
Why does the SOS malfunction occur
Why do I lose all sound (including door chime)
and if possible, does p161f mean I need my actuators replaced?

Thank you for any and all help.

Unfortunately, I can't answer the CCC specific coding questions. However, I can provide some guidance on a few other things.

"Why does the SOS malfunction occur
Why do I lose all sound (including door chime)"

Easy answer. Open MOST loop.

You've either got the fiber optic adapter connected wrong, or the the adapter is connected correctly, and the P2000 for some reason doesn't have power, which causes the MOST loop to be open. If MOST is open for any reason, it will cause the symptoms you describe.

I can't figure out where I'm missing in the loop. I have the long end of the orange cable into the mr12volt, then the short end into the green cable, then the "odd man out end" that sticks up into the big headunit connector. I didn't utilise the small fiber optical loop that was also included, maybe that is what I'm missing? I don't seem to see a cd changer in the trunk, just the main cd unit with buttons 1-6 and DVD on it.

Would there be any chance its due to me having the dest idrive? The all silver knob with one menu button?
