55 flat screen TV fit?
Buying a new TV this weekend. Sure, I can roll coal in my crew cab long box but don't want to drive it unless I have to. Parking at Costco is already a PITA.
Anyway, my back seats fold flat. Can I haul the TV in the M car?

I fit a new 42" TV in my E90 easily, I would think a 55" would certainly fit. |

Thanks. I took your advice and measured the shipping box dimensions. I have 2 inches to spare!
Samsung 55 Q7DT. I know nothing of TV's and don't really care to but my 12 year old Plasma finally bit the dust so have to replace it with something.

Put box on the roof, tie it with a little bit of yarn, and hold it down with your arm as you drive. Safest way to get there.
Plan on removing it from the box to fit but it still might not fit well enough in an E92. I wouldn't tilt the TV to fit so most of the weight is on one edge. Just take the truck. |

Seems to be the case. They all seem to be pretty good. When I said I don't care, I sort of lied. Refresh rate. I will spend extra to get a clean E90 M3 stuffing it into a corner!!!!

I put a 55" in my E92 without any problems twice. Depending on the box you might have to take it out. My two 55" TV's fit in the car in their boxes though. Not both at the same time though.

Threw a 50" in the box in the back of my E92 with room to spare, a 55" should work. Just check the height of the box, that's the limitation.

Has nothing to do with type of screen. It's because the weight of the screen/panel driver could flex if the vehicle hits a large bump.
It's a warning for the stupid. Like the warning about drowning on the side of a bucket

Again.. It's irrelevant to the type. All types CAN (not WILL) be damaged if the screen flexes. More likely with plasma, yes but, still unlikely if you're careful.
I recommend keeping your EDC in comfort mode just in case.

Anything up to 70" will fit, I did the measurements when I bought one.
The minimum trunk width is about 36" and a 70 inch w/o bezel is around 35". I've moved TVs on 6-7 different occasions with this car. |
