The Harrop TS seems like a good alternative, although if you look at OEM applications, twin turbos seem to be the better fit for small displacement V8s. They don't sap any crank power. On the bigger V8s, you see more TS, but they can give up some crank power to drive the blower. You don't see any OEM using the centrifugal, which may be the cheapest and easiest to install and tune, but offers the worst area under the curve power and torque gains while still sapping crank power to drive and producing full boost only at redline. |

stage 1 isn't that impressive from a power perspective (and even less from a cost view vs. all the used SC kits) - but tough to say where it compares against other options for sure until final numbers and a dyno chart come out.

but i feel like the S65 is really the best forum is N/A. So a S/C is better fit if you wanted to go FI. thats my opinion |

I'm with you on that, a centri blower gets more then the job done on these cars(for a very fair price IMO), then there's the Harrop kit for those who wants more bottom end(at an already much steeper price), but I fail to see who would buy this turbo kit. It's going to cost much more then the Harrop, will be more complicated to install, probably less reliable and will almost certainly not be able to deliver more performance without building the engine, which would bring the cost of such a project to $35-40k. Is there really a market for this thing, hummm... I'm not so sure...we'll see I guess... if this kit finally see the light one day.

Ya, this kit won't be cheap and will likely require an engine build and dct clutch pack upgrade to be reliable, but craziness like this just makes me happy because it exists.
I've driven an ess 600 m3 and rode in an hpf 2.5 m3, both were absolutely nuts, but since that hpf car... I was hoping a kit would come out for the e92, the thrust was just mind bending |

The Harrop kit uses a positive displacement supercharger. Going the PD route is very popular amongst people who want performance that most closely resembles a larger displacement engine, but there are trade-offs. PD superchargers are driven from the engine, so they rob HP, which comes out of your NET output. If you want big power, and you want it over a broad range, nothing beats a turbocharger. The problem (for me) is, you get the character of a turbocharged engine: worse throttle response and turbo lag. The degree to which these factors affect you will depend on the goals and engineering of your kit, as well as your personal sensitivity.
I'm not trying to be argumentative It's just that Ezio asked a rhetorical question, and I love answering rhetorical questions almost as much as I love playing devil's advocate.

My guess is that this Gitani kit is built for people who are going to go the distance (eventually) and swap out low compression pistons, etc.

They're building the twin turbo s85 kit for a widebody m6 in Russia. They also just released photos of the manifolds for a twin turbo kit for the Mercedes e63's... I think gintani's problem therein lies in how they keep taking on new projects before finishing one of them.

It's probably either out now to local customers w/ a large price tag or dead in the water in favor of the F8X, M5/M6-platforms - either way, not something that's likely to be adopted by the majority of members here for the E9X.
