Got the dreaded increased emissions

Went to turn on my car tonight and increased emissions with reduced power warning lit up on my dash...

Along with the redline pushed all the way to 4K rpms.

Hoping my car is still under the 7/70 for the throttle actuators.. I was crossing my fingers hoping it will fail before the end... I'm below 70 but I'm pretty sure I'm on the cusp or over the 7.

Wish me luck when I take it to the dealer. Not that it's overall expensive but if it's fully covered and I just missed the cut off it would burn hah.

If its not covered, buy rebuilt actuators and install them yourself or get an Indy to install. Going to BMW is just going to be a total ripoff unless you have money to throw away like that.

I have an Indy shop I got to which I will go to if they are not covered.

I prefer brand new actuators.

Why not just run OBD II codes via Carly or another dongle instead of paying a dealer to diag?

I have the same thing, increased emissions but the car is not in limp mode. Tossed code P0128, just researching it now and saw your post.

Usually these signs have been a tell tale sign of actuators from my research. And regardless it's emissions related and the extended emissions warranty covers a bunch of emission related parts

I got a similar message when my DCT transmission went to limp mode on track. It wasn't emissions related I ran codes and found loss of transmission oil pressure. That's just one example, but it occurred in a different manner. Good luck

Dealership has informed me that both banks need replacement along with thermostat

I'm also a month out of the 7/70, they are checking to see what they can do for me and if they can honor the emissions warranty..

Rebuilt using non teeth wearing materials. Your brand new ones will need to be replaced again sometime in the future.

They go on sale every once in a while.

This ^. Abdul rebuilds the internals to "never" fail again. As stated above, Oem TA's purchased today will eventually fail again as the internals are still made of plastic. So either purchase rebuilt units from Abdul Abdul@mpowermotorsports and have basically bulletproof TA's that come with a lifetime warranty or purchase them from FCP Euro and receive a lifetime warranty albeit they will be an inferior product.

As a side note, if you decide not to use Abdul's services, please at least contact him and offer him your TA's for whatever market value is as he is in desperate need of cores which in the end are passed along to the M3post community.

Just replaced both my actuators and thermostat and thermostat sensor.

Have both of the used actuators out. I contacted mpower but never recieved a message back.

Similar story here - My actuators had been causing limp-home mode intermittently for the last several months (correctable via re-start), and i was occasionally gotten the increased emissions CEL. The CELs were sometimes linked to a thermostat and sometimes to "O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich."

Just replace both actuators (from FCP) and the water pump/thermostat/thermostat sensor last weekend. Drove about 1/2 hour on the highway this afternoon, and got another O2 Sensor Stuck Rich. The battery is only 2 years old, so i'm thinking it may be the O2 sensor... May try that next, when i get another free weekend.
