is it mounted solid enough that it won't flex / break off at speed? the 2 threaded rod seems so sus

It is fine. I just did two track days last weekend. Constantly hit 200km/hr at the end of the straight on each lap. Also did 4.5 hour drive (one way) to and from the track, averaging 150km/hr on the highway for a long period of time. No issues whatsoever. Everything is still solid.

I did had to bend the fins a bit so they are tight against the horizontal piece in the middle. Otherwise they rattle a bit during cold start. I might add an L angle to it later to attach the center pieces together.

Althought I didn't have to do any mod really. I have the meisterchaft exhaust and it have several studs sticking out on the muffler part to mount their aero shield (add on pieces to their exhaust). I only had to drill two small holes on the center diffuser piece for the studs to poke through. Either that or I cut the studs off which I prefer not to, in case I want to go with a different setup down the road.

You don't need to do any mod to the diffuser unless you have the meisterchaft exhaust. And if you have one, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about as soon as you put the center diffuser piece in place.
