OSS LED vs. ??? LED

Hey there guys. I currently have HIDs and I love the look of them but they have given me problems since day 1! 90% of the time the left one doesnt turn on until I manually turn the DRLs off and on a few times. Its kind of embarrassing having to do that with passengers in the car.

So, I am thinking my next big upgrade will be true LED angel eyes (not Lux or AiB). I know that OSS makes LED angels but I remember seeing another vendor that did so as well (and cheaper too). I cant find the thread but the vendor also offered a black out option too.

Do any of you guys have an idea of what I am talking about? Can anybody provide a review? Link? Price? Info?

Thanks....

When you say true LEDs you mean that the angel ring itself is replaced with an LED like the OSS? Because the LUX solution IS an LED, it's just in the same shape as a bulb and is plugged in like a bulb, and it doesn't replace the angel eye ring itself.

Not sure what you're looking at, because the only LED solutions I know of are OSS, LUX, and AiB.

Yes I am talking about LED rings, not just bulbs. I know there is another vendor other the OSS that does this. I just cant remember who...

I'm sure you guys are talking about ACM headlights! Contact Bart@AutoCouture or Sal@AutoCouture I'm sure they'll be happy to answer any questions for you.

Here's a pic - used without permission, if owner wants it to be taken down then please just ask;

I'm getting the LUX myself for now, and then after winter will be getting the ACM ones

Bav X offers them too but the rings aren't the same size as OEM and they aren't really that cheaper.

Yea just make sure you like how they look. Personally I think they look bad and cheap with the small outer ring.

Bav X told me that they are looking for a new supplier and that their LS3 won't be in stock until December. =(

I'm guessing it's all in the brand name. Everyone on here knows about OSS, few know about ACM and then even fewer know about LS3.

Could somebody chime in if there's differences in amount of LED's used and such..

I actually do know that they come bigger. BUT originally they were only available with small outer rings. Only after a ton of people hated how it looked did they start offering the larger outer rings. I don't know why you are being rude when I'm just trying to help.

OSS is still the best and what BavX and ACM copied from, but I understand the draw for those products for people local to them.

lol, your perception is a little skewed friend... i don't see myself as being rude but informative. i understand your affinity towards OSS but your statement said

as if they had only ONE option. If you KNEW they had larger outter rings as an option then there would've been no need for you to INFORM me or warn me of the smaller outter rings. all you had to do was say, "make sure you upgrade to their larger outter rings."

i apologize if you feel i was rude... that was not my intent.

I guess so, but I relate BavX to their small outer rings. On E90post, these never really took off and I actually haven't seen more than their original set of larger outer rings.

i have LS3 V1s with the full circular outer rings. The LS3s originally were based off OSS, but were redesigned to achieve the full rings the OSS couldn't with their design– and have a few more LEDs in the rings. I personally like that design better, but to each their own... and yea, people supposedly wanted the larger outer rings so they stopped carrying those.

Had one of the first LS3s on my 335 and then transfered to my M3– still working great and had zero problems

Got them from BavX in brea. Did their expedited service (same day ~5 hours) so there was no downtime which is super nice.

There's some photos here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=593313

And then a youtube video of the welcome lights with them (look to the reflection under the lights for the beaded style look that you get).
