Custom DCT Cooler Q?

Hi y'all!

I'm debating moving from the Do88 to a custom Setrab cooler core using the Seems Legit Garage AN8 adapter they sell. I have a leak in my DCT cooler lines up by the heat exchanger and the prices are absurd for new lines.

From an aero perspective, it'd be great to close off the passenger bumper duct and there's plenty of real estate to move the DCT cooler in front of AC condenser or somewhere behind the oil cooler above the rear splitter with a puller fan/NACA duct running parallel with the ground.

I'm already dropping the DCT to replace the mechatronics sleeve o-ring seal and side pan gasket.

if you sell your DO88, please let me know! I'm in the market.

Will do! SLG adapter is arriving tomorrow. Gonna mock it up and see if I can find a good place to mount the cooler core this weekend.

rear mounted between your exhaust, the car picks up enough air in that rear section for it to work pretty well.

Did someone go this route already?

If it really works, I guess it would be better than the do88 option both price-wise and also by moving some weight off the front end.

I've started down this path, dropping the DCT in the next few weeks. I think the bigger advantage is aero by being able to block off that giant DCT cooler duct. Ideally finding another route for engine intake would get you a much better bumper shape for airflow and reduce drag/increase dF.

Seems legit garage makes a cheap adapter to move to AN8 lines and remove the heat exchanger.

Do you have data that you're losing speed with how the car is now? How do you know blocking off that hole will improve things?

I think it's fairly obvious by looking at standard aero design practices, adding high pressure at the air dam and reducing airflow into the engine bay is a positive. This article outlines a lot of my thoughts. https://bit.ly/3VinKAN

Going for an E92 GT2 design haha. Just need to move the engine 10" back and build full hood ducting. Jk jk

This was my first thought too, but yeah, all the coolers are in the back/trunk, and it has a full undertray because racecar. I almost feel like venting the exhausted air into the fender (where it kinda goes already) would work well too, using the tunnels of a front splitter to help with the vacuum affect as the air vents through the fender.
