I gotta say I am a bit envious of the people that can front the time and energy (and money of course) to put something like this together and actually use it at the TRACK where it is meant to be used (who cares about canyons?) on a regular basis. Perhaps one day when the kids are much older and hate having me puttering around... but today nor tomorrow is not that day.

In the mean time, I'll live vicariously through you and dogbone. I would probably go the same exact route for a build - lightweight, focus on mechanical grip, squeezing every last ounce out of a NA engine.
thank you.

in my opinion, envy is a wasted emotion. seeing other builds or things i like that someone else has or is doing is motivating and inspiring. envy is just want. you can draw on motivation to get to work.
one of the things that people don't get to see on social media platforms is the work involved. i didn't buy my car new, and i didn't start modding it right away. i was busy building and investing. nose to the grind wheel... for the last eleven years. i didn't win the lottery, and this isn't my parent's money. this is eleven years of hard, hard work, discipline, and goal setting.
the habits i've built over the last eleven years has led to a feeling of guilt because i've been spending some money on myself.
i sold a rental property to downsize and reduce debt (might be having a kid next year). i didn't do anything special- i bought when it made sense, and sold when it made sense. but the discipline in staying the course and staying away from temptation has been key. don't get discouraged, things take time.

what? *disgust*

this one is special though.

first thing i bought was a set of diamond earrings though. she doesn't go for expensive stuff, but she put out a hint clear enough for an idiot like me to understand.

Any plans to delete the wiper system… that'll save a few.. Didn't see it on the list.

Insightful move! You're doing gods work here. Although I too think you need a cage

Not yet. You saw what I did to it? Took 3.6 ounces out of it.

Seats are purchased. I initially thought I would get the Recaro Podiums. They were supposed to start shipping this September, but I've been told by several suppliers they are having production issues and delays. The $6k price tag wasn't great, but I could live with it.

I started exploring sparco. They have the QRT-C that weighs 12.5 lbs. awesome. Went and sat in one, and I'm a little too big. My waist fit, but my shoulders felt hunched forward. I'm glad I didn't blindly buy either of these options.

I sat in the Evo XL and felt right at home. The carbon version comes out next year, but this will hold me over until it's time to upgrade. Weighs 17 lbs.

Good to know. I'm smaller than you 6'0" 190 lean, and the qrt-c did the same to me. EVO was my next stop.

i always kinda wanted the motons since they are regarded as "better" than mcs, but i couldn't tell you why- i didn't dive down that rabbit hole yet. my friend's generosity made my decision clear.
Love my Motons!! So I like the pick.

Unless I can hitch a ride, I'm not sure if I'll have a truck/trailer to make it out. A cross country track tour is next on the bucket list though.

You pay out the ass for it, but it's a nice product- the Simpson hybrid S HANS device.

That might be an idea. Maybe I can turn it into some kind of charity event to raise money for a good cause. Might be fun!

A lot of people do that. If you already have an "in" with a charity, even better to help get that marketing base going.

What better way to shake down a new build than 7 days of track time and 3500 road miles...in a week. lol
