A New Little 'Funny' (demister & radio interference)

Or not....

Took my car in on Saturday to have the radio/rear screen demister interference things looked at (the radio crackles when the demister is on....), and it needs a new rear screen!! WTF? I assume it's because the antenna and demister are in the same screen but bloody hell that'll cost BMW a fair bit as opposed to the value of the faulty wire or whatever.

Interesting thing was that the first thing they asked me was whether my windows were factory tinted (they are). God only knows what it would have cost if I had done the tinting aftermarket and BMW then didn't honour the warranty as a result.....

Anyway, leaving the car with them while I'm away on business next week, so should all be done for nuffink!

Surely they should be able to tell it had factory tinting. BMW are bloody pain the arse (the dealers).

Hope you get her back uncrackly Ben!

Me too Carl - cheers

BTW the title of this thread has changed - it didn't have the brackets originally...... (all the power has clearly gone to Viv's head)

I have to say that I would alter far more if I were a Mod, just for the hell of it!

I thought it would make things a little 'clearer' & make searching for the thread easier, Ben.

I hope you get the problem sorted out, BTW.

Best of luck with everything Bumps. I just love the strategy BMW use to repair cars: "Dont repair or fix, rip it out and replace"

Funnily enough the dealer changed the rear screen rather than the tyres. How stupid were they?

I line them up and Carlos finishes it off!! I dont think it was the tyre per se though something in the rim perhaps causing interference that was dislodged.

I still find this a bit strange but it cleared from the very moment I drove away and never returned.

Just sharing a strange remedy to a problem
