Thanks buddy. I never expected a dime after I called it quits on this topic. I was and am fully prepared to fund this exercise myself. I appreciate your support and your vote of confidence. If there happens to be any extremely unlikely circumstances that prevent an answer to the basic question of upper and lower limits on shift times you will get every penny back. Of course I'll get the system up to you, make a test nerd out of you and let you extract some good data from your trusty M5.

Thank you as well. All relevant comment to TBone apply to you as well. I'll definitely be working hard to "repay" your donation with knowledge.

Swamp, I sent $104 as well. Looking forward to seeing the data you'll collect and borrowing the equipment for additional tests after you are done.

Footie, I don't see why conducting the tests should be pose an issue moving forward from here. And, if the throttle position data are what you are after, I will borrow the equipment and run tests to obtain that data, assuming I can get a hold of a DCT car, which I should be able to do. (I am hoping WCH will work with me on that.) So, it can't hurt for you to pitch in at this point really.

P.S. I don't mean to be pushy, but I really do think that a few other folks should still pitch in here so that you don't have to cover for $200.

Not everyone has to give $100, but it would be nice if members could give a little bit here and there to a project that will benefit everyone. |

I'll beat OC to the punch. He just contributed $104 as well. Thanks much OC! I really intended to cover the $ myself and just keep things moving forward. It is nice to not have to shell out the full $600. Some of that would be way better spent on mods for my car!
It is actually quite amazing that we have folks that are enough of an enthusiasts to shell out money to someone they don't really know to do some nerdy testing. I guess it sort of shows that you can get to know folks decently well on line. Oh and by the way... We still need a bunch more cars, strongly prefer some mentioned early on. The comparisons will be as interesting as the raw results in all of those fine ms. Last edited by swamp2; 08-15-2008 at 03:27 PM.. |
