what was the oil level before that?
Just do not add the entire quart at once. those oil level sensors are tricky. |

the last few days it was probably halfway between the very bottom and the middle. going to have my Indy shop do it bc I don't want to mess it up...

thank you.. Didn't know if being that close (literally on it) to "max" was worrisome. The owner said me, when I was asking all these oil over-fill questions... I must have been on the message boards alot recently to be this worried. hah

A lot of people say S65 burns oil, however I rarely have to top off between oil changes every 6k or so miles. I would imagine if you were leaking oil at that rate you would find drops all over your garage floor. If I were in your position I would add half a liter and check your level reading once warmed up.

My 2008 used to drink oil like crazy. Forget about 2K, I was driving with 2 cans just in case, adding a pint every 1K or so. My 2011 on another hand is pretty good, did not ask for oil in between services. I think it's all about particular year and the way cars were driven, especially during break in period.
