New Tie rod end will not tighten to torque spec.

2012 BMW 335i E92 Replacing the tie rod ends.

Taper is bottomed out all the way with a 21mm wrench while counter holding the stud with a T40. I can put all my weight into the wrench and it’s definitely bottomed out.

When I go to tighten the 21mm with a socket on my torque wrench set to 122 ft lbs it will not get anywhere past 100 ft lbs and starts to spin the stud with it mobdro .

Even if I put a jack under the ball joint it still spins when trying to get a click out of my torque wrench. I did not have this problem on the other side.

I removed the nut to inspect everything and noticed some metal shavings on the threads of the nut. I am 100% positive I did not cross thread anything. The nut spun on smoothly by hand until it reached the nylon lock.

Where should I go from here?

You need to hold the ball joint stud with the T40 while tightening the nut.
