MDM button no longer functioning

I have an E90 M3 owned since new. In the past month the MDM button stopped working. Doesn't really bother me but I still like my stuff to work (I never use it except first run out on the track IF it's raining).
When I check fault codes I get a "MDM receiver fault."

Cleared the fault and it's coming back pretty consistently as now, "MDM Control Module fault." It give me a part number (my Schwaben code reader) 7848125, but I can't find any parts supplier that recognized that number.

Does anyone know
1) Where the MDM control module is located.
2) What is the part number
3) Do I have to code the vehicle for it to work (my guess is yes).

Appreciate your input.

No, there aren't and that unit has been replaced about 20,000 miles ago.

Mdm is controlled by the switch unit.

No it says, there is an MDM receiver fault. I would think it's the input to one of the ECUs since MDM is a 100% software function.
