What process would be used for refinishing. I know they can be refinished, but I thought I read that the wheels could not be powder coated, but I'm not sure.

You are right, they cannot be powder coated. This is because they are forged at specific temperature that gives the wheel maximum strength. Powder coating process will interfere with this process and weaken the wheel. Any good body shop can paint the wheels. They would clean, scuff and properly prep the wheel then base color coat and clear coat for gloss or Matt clear for Matt finish.

Honestly, a little gloss black touch up paint or nail polish will have them looking 99% or better. Not a big deal, guys lol.

GLWS, bro. Price is ridiculously good.

Just saying, no one's gonna notice but you or whoever read this thread. Some things are a bigger pain in the ass than they're worth.

Sure, a body shop could paint them. I was just offering a simpler solution that would be almost the same. So similar, in fact, that only the most critical would notice.

I understand what you were offering...and i'm saying generally someone who pays that kind of money for a set of rims is not going to be happy with touching up blemishes with nail polish lol.

I MIGHT consider doing that to a beater set of winter rims...might!

Maybe not nail polish, but a proper touch up paint.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread or stir the pot. Was just trying to help the OP sell the wheels to somebody who was on the fence about refinishing.

To be honest, just mounting the wheels as is will make any M3 look gorgeous. The wear and tear isn't bad at all.
