Wave if you see my car!
Well, I couldn't decide what regional section to put this in...
My car was picked up by Montway Auto Transport (using the carrier Ambela Transport Inc.) yesterday. It was picked up in Central NJ, and it's now headed over to sunny California! Here's my thread on why I'm moving: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595312 So wave to the M3 if you happen to see it on the road....or if you see the truck flipped over on the side of the highway! I have used Montway in the past with my other 325ci from NJ to Chicago. They were very careful with my M3, but I was a little worried about the motorcycle transport. Even though the person said they've done many bikes before, they did not have the proper straps/equipment, and did not know the proper tie down points. The guy kept ratcheting down the straps tighter and tighter even though I said it wasn't necessary. Sure, compressing the suspension for a couple of hours might be good, but for a ~5 day trip across the country, I'm not too sure. I'm insured, and so are they, but I'm worried issues will arise after I pick it up. Oh yeah, this flatbed and trailer is temporary. It's going to their main office in Philly, and then onto an 18 wheeler car hauler. Anyway, here are some pics! (Taken with iPhone) And a video! Standing outside, that cold start sequence is pretty loud.

Have a safe trip (including your toys) and all the best on the west coast with your new job / projects
Bet the cost is about $1200- for the transport? for a moment there I was holding my breath (transfer from trailer to the truck). I think the front under lip made slight contact

Good luck with your move man. I'm actually jealous that you're moving to Cali. I lived in Oceanside for 4 years when I was younger and I've always wanted to go back now that I have a damn job.
PS... I hate you. |

yeah I would have redone the bike. you don't want it compressed that much for that long. also, the ring on the strap looks like its touching the swing arm, your gonna have scratches there.
and the front strap is rubbing the fairing, your gonna have problems there too. Why did they strap the front like that anyway? you should have told them to go get a proper straps.
