My '11 ZCP I picked up last month still has original Pirelli star tires. They are pretty dry rotted and noisy so definitely want to get some new rubber on there soon.

This is not my daily. Will never be driven in rain or snow. Only taken out on warm sunny days. I have been looking at the new Michelin PS4S which are probably great (had the PSS on my M4), but the idea of Pilot Port Cup 2s is pretty tempting. Overkill or worth it.

Any other suggestions are appreciated as well. Solely looking for the best dry performance street tire.

If its strictly a car for dry weather and you don't mind tire whine Toyo r888r are pretty much my favorite dry tire. I prefer them over my current PS4s.

Ps4s feel great on my supercharged e92. I went with 275/30+295/30. I am all oem zcp.

What wheels and suspension are you planning on running?

I was in the same situation as you when I bought my '12. Dry rotted original Pirellis that would lose traction if you looked at them too hard. I've had a lot of different tires and PSS were the previous favorite although I felt they had a very narrow temperature operating window. I put PS4S on and holy moly they are the tits! Huge improvement over PSS in my opinion. Grip is astounding for this level of street tire and comfort/noise is very very good. I put them on my car with temps in 40s-50s and they worked very well. Now I'm into 60s-70s and they really hook up. I don't think you'll find a better tire for street use unless you want to deal with the compromises of track capable street tires.

I did exactly the same except 255/35 up front to keep the nimble steering feel. Such was the theory anyway and I feel a difference coming from 245s. How do you feel the 275 does up front?

If you are going to track your car those tires are complete trash, Bridgestone RE-71 is a better tire and is a 200tw not a R compound. Stay away from the Toyos.

I love the 275 up front. I don't track the car so I don't have in depth input but for the street it has great feel. I have yet to feel any downgrade in the steering ability. Car also rides the smoothest and quietest it ever has on the ps4s.

I would get some form of extreme performance summer tire or mild track tire of only used on warm nice dats. Re71, ado8, z2, nt05, or similar

Good to know. I am good with the 255 but sounds like 275 is a great option!

Been debating to go 255 on front but don't want to lose any of the 245s nimble feel. Hence stayed 265/245 PSS last round but thinking 255 yet again for next round (which assumingly will be PS4S).... but inputs like yours make me continue to hesitate. Still happy or could you even go back 245 due to the difference?

Thanks

I feel a slight difference but it is likely minimal in the eyes of most. I am the type that notices the difference between sport and comfort on the zcp suspension. I don't have any tramlining or anything like that, to me it's more a sense that the front is a bit heavier but the responsiveness is there. This all said I am basing this comparison on 245/265 pirelli sottozerro (winter and softer) to 255/295 PS4S (summer and harder) so factor that into my response. If you were in the area I'd offer you drive my car to help you out. Overall I like the choice paired with the 295 but my priority was I wanted to experience the wide rear and it sounds like yours may be to stick closer to stock (?).

Cheers mate. Yep my next would be 255/275 not wider. Sounds like this will be it when the day come.
