E90 (and F80) vs the G80

Hi guys

Former E92 owner that's moved onto a G80 here. I recently got a few friends together to compare the differences.

https://machineswithsouls.com/2021/1...s-the-best-m3/

It's that S65 that makes the difference…

There is no M3 of interest to me above the E9x series. All bloated , got bigger, heavier, uglier.

The M2 competition would be my direct replacement if I ever decide to sell my M3. I know the M2 CS is out, but I have trouble swallowing 100k for a 2 series...

Nice article though, thanks OP!

I'd say the F82 CS is a better looking car than my previous E92s but it's close. That said I will be getting back into an E92 M3. It is the best M3 IMO as well and even though the E92 doesn't feel or go that fast, I'll take that soundtrack over outright speed anyway. My goal will be to keep the CS and get an E92. Couldn't bring myself to sell one for the other.

The E90 looks the most chiseled to me. The rear ends have become as bloated as a beached whale.

The F8x actually got lighter compared to the E9x just FYI, looks like the G8x went the opposite direction again.

OP all the cars are looking good in the pics. I think the F80 looks the best out of the three, especially in that San Marino Blue. Yum.

I sold my M4CS (had it for 2 years) for an E92 competition, it wasn’t an easy choice but I’ve not looked back. As you say in an ideal world I’d have both in the garage and be super happy.

Well done on the article - agree with most ur comments- can't really argue with your placement other than to say the F80M is one of my favorite M cars of all time

Blue is the best BMW shade

My E92 is amazing to drive and it looks great in side profile but sitting next to the CS this weekend it looked a bit "softer" overall.

Keep up the write-ups, enjoy your writing style.

Thank you!

My E92 was an identical spec to yours
