Akra EVO vs GT4
I\'ve been researching these exhausts and it appears that even with the EVO I\'ll probably have to swap out my mid pipes back to stock each year to pass inspections which leads me to two questions: 1) how difficult is this to do ie can I do it on my own with basic handtools? And 2) why get the EVO over the GT4 if neither will pass inspection as is.
Any insight on these points Is appreciated. |

If you have the right tools, yes it can be taken off somewhat easily if you have access to a lift. Doing it on jackstands will be hell.
Evo has cats, GT4 does not. Pretty obvious what the benefits are. |

With the right tools ramp and stand you should be able to do it no issue but FYI some cases they are a bitch to take off oh such a small space.
so why get the EVO? EVO comes with a cat and res. GT4 is pure straight which is LOUDER way freaking LOUDER and with that most likely in couple months or days you might have to go back cause the ticket might say Excessive noise.. LOL

The GT4 (as with any catless exhaust) is really stinky. Some people are much more sensitive to it, catless cars make me sick, now. I tried it and anytime I drove with the windows down, I got a headache. No headache with the Akrapovic Evo or Turner Test pipes, so those little 200 cpi cats do enough!
The GT4 has a much more raw sound, the mufflers keep the rasp under control but I find the Evolution to sound a lot cleaner. |
