Dealer recommended
My dealer recommended changing the front tires on my M3. I currently have PS2 19". When I checked them, the wear indicators are still 5/32 below the tread. Do I really need them replaced at this stage? Dealer quoted me $505.00 each. Thats crazy!
Also, any thoughts on running Pilot Super Sports up front and PS2 at the rears? My rears have alot more life left. Just asking... |

If you still have 5/32 *above* the wear bars, that's 7/32 total depth. That is too early to need replacement unless there are other factors involved.
4/32" total depth is when we usually recommend replacement if you expect to encounter wet driving conditions. 2/32" is the legal minimum where the wear bar is. So if you had 5/32" total depth, it would be getting toward time for replacement, though you'd still have a little more time left. Pilot Super Sports are not recommended to be mixed with PS2s. Michelin specifically notes that they should not be mixed, and there have been complaints about the handling from some who have tried it anyway.
