This was my thought as well. I checked and double checked all the connections and everything is snug as a bug, so I知 just not sure where I知 going wrong. I wouldn稚 consider myself an electrician, but I知 certainly savvy enough to plug and play wires

Perhaps a bad video splitter cable.

Possibly. I email mr12volt and will see what process I need to go through. If/when there is a resolution, I値l update everyone here.

So a quick update. After chatting with Mr12Volt support, they feel it could be a faulty unit, so they are shipping me another one to try. I can稚 get a chance to work on the install until this weekend again, but will provide another update when I try the install with the second unit.

thank you all.

this is longest thread I've seen so far (other than oil change or EV debate)

I just finished my E90 & E91, as well as E70.

Coding
(none of my cars had factory CD changer installed)
for E90 & E91 I added CD changer VO - everything went smooth.

for E70 I forgot to code ahead of installation.
However, when I finally was about to code CIC, I noticed that CDMM_changer value "magically" changed and my music was already coming out from speakers.
I wonder if newer mr12volt units take car of it on startup?

If you going to do E70
* be very gentle when pulling center (HVAC/CIC cover) trim.
* the spot behind glovebox where factory CD changer is perfect fit for mr12volt.
* there is by far more room to work (than on E9X)
* pay close attention to factory HVAC harness routing during disassembly - it may got pinched against sharp edges at the re-assembly
* all CIC antenna connections had different locking mechanism

Echo on calls
* built-in noise cancelation training feature fixes it.

Other
I got around with far less disassembly than many of you show in your pictures (no need to remove glove box)

This was my experience back with the original p2000 when it first launched. My car had no cd changer, just plugged it in and it worked. I checked how it was coded months later, and saw that mp3_cdc was set.

However, since I didn't check how it was coded before the install, I'll never know if it suddenly changed to mp3_cdc during the first power on of the p2000, or if it was already set like that.

My e92 is a late model year (2012), and I had the integration level of the car raised before it exited factory warranty. It would make me a good candidate to have late model fixes or changes in behavior.

All we know at this point is some people are lucky and don't have to do any coding. This issue is compounded by the fact that the new P2000 model with the factory mic integration blocks your ability to code CIC when installed.

The risk of skipping the coding on this is if find out that you need it after install, you've got to completely reconnect the CIC to the factory harness, and hope that you tested it before you got too far with reassembly. Compare that with the DSP unit, and the original, where you could code CIC with it installed.

For that reason, I think that everyone should code before installing the factory microphone version. To big of a risk to not do 5 minutes worth of work.

My thoughts exactly. If you've kept up on the last few pages since the new version was released, you know you have to code CD before install.
