If buyer wants to refinish - do NOT powder coat them. Paint the wheels. Also make sure heat is not used to remove the existing finish. The heat used in the PC process will weaken the forged AL.
Not to thread jack, how is the heat used to powder coat different from the heat subjected to the wheels when on the track? E.I. braking friction. Arguably, high temps.
The heat on track is nowhere near PC heat
Slicer,

While many here would agree you've done a lot for the community. Certainly, you've gained a lot of respect for your connection with BBS and other manufacturers. However, a lot of folks come here for facts and how-to's. Even more I think to make sure they don't screw something up.

Saying powder coating weakens the wheel, doesn't necessarily jive with why certain wheels are manufactured.

With disc temps approaching 1100C. Calipers 260C. Tire temps reaching 135C. I don't see how 400f. +/-50 to cure powder would weaken a wheel. Especially when IND, Auto Couture do custom colors on some projects.
BBS wheels and other high end wheels are tempered (aged) at 350F for 6-10 hours to maximize strength. If you subject the alloy to higher temperatures, the alloy will lose strength.

Let's bring this back on topic, take the debate to a new thread. Beautiful wheels for sale, someone is getting an insane deal!

If you want this set to be show room condition, you need to plan on powder coating or paint.

If there is cost difference between the two procedure, perhaps you want to know that a head of time.

The nice thing about this set is that you can have an awesome set for entry price then refinish them later.

Or do it all upfront.

IND is owned (or affiliated with) by a paint shop called A&L. They paint, not powder. If IND or ACM choose to powder coat and weaken the wheel... that's a mistake; not sure what to tell you on that. My facts come straight from the source - BBS themselves have tested the affects of powder coating on their wheels and shared this information with me directly. The tires and brakes reach those temps but the wheels do not. The brakes and tires are seeing direct friction elevating their temperature. The wheels are not.

There is heat treating used in the forging process. Adding additional high heat cycles to forged AL weakens it.

I should clarify the current status of the FIs.

First, they are actively being used as one of my trackday sets. My Forgelines are my primary set, but these are used as well.

Since they are not in pristine condition, one has a minor road rush, they allow to get this at a discount, and refinish them on your own time, increasing the price to a used level.

Why should you get them?
In my opinion, there is only one reason and it is non technical.

Technically yes, they fabulously light and strong. But so are many other wheels. They look great, but that is subjective.

The main reasons you should be consider them is their authenticity. They are specifically designed for the E92 M3 and for an after market set, you can have an "authentic" BBS wheel. And they are no longer available.

My intention is to replace these with track day wheels like the Forgeline or equivalent.

The price is non negotiable. I am planing to use the funds to buy another set of wheels. The only reason I am selling these is because for a track day I don't need authentic wheels.

So think of this as a public service. You get authentic wheel because I don't need it to be authentic.

There is not need to flame this thread. I basically don't care if no one needs these wheels and I continue using them as my trackday set.

All the best and feel free to contact me if you are interested.

I don't believe ACM does wheel refinishing, but I am sure they have someone they use.

ACM knows my wheels very well. I suggest you contact them and work a deal with them for total cost to you. All I need is to drop the wheels off next time I am there, and you buy the wheels from them - refinished.

I can settled with them on the back end.

I have number of ppl expressing interest in my FI set. It is good to see that there is interest on these wheels and they can be mounted on a E92 with the proper respect to these amazing wheels.

If I was not clear before, I am willing to make the effort to ship, The wheels are not including the center pieces and the LCI TPMS. You can have both as a separate charge. PayPal fees are not included, but you are welcome to add those fees if protection is important to you.

I currently have used MPSC2 on the front and new MPSS on the rear. I will be using both on the track to finish them off. Then it will be the actual timing to deliver them and order my trackday set.

What I am trying to explain is the timing. Soon there will be a time to get these. If there is no deposit soon on these, we are going to revisit the sale in the winter off season. And I can't guarantee that I will not hit a curb or have an off incident some time in the future.

So, to all who PMed me, please try to decide in the next few weeks what you want to do. While $4k is half the price from new, $4k is a lot of money and you should make sure this is the right decision for you.

Inflation.
Please understand that if Forgeline raise their prices, the price of the FI will go up. So another point to think about.

I have to put this for sale post on hold.
It will take Forgeline 13 weeks to get me a new set and I need this set for the season.

I expect to revisit this tread back in Nov when my trackday season is over.

If anyone is seriously considering this set, please be ready to purchase this FI set in Mid Nov/Dec time frame.

As I mentioned, this is not my primary set, but I need it as backup.

Price went up.
it will be now more expensive to replace this set than when originally advertised.

Given the inflation situation, the price will only go up from here. Otherwise it makes no sense for me to sell these.

Spoke to Forgeline.
Cost went up $200 per wheel.
My price has been adjusted up to reflect that.
