Dude it’s like $30 online. Just Google and you will find many sites offering it. https://www.bimmerdiagnostics.com

There are better options than even having to pay $30.
You need to be more "resourceful" to find the latest copies of ISTA D. That's all I'm going to say. And as an FYI, my latest version of ISTA D is around 100 Gb.

But current Datens are $7. Is there a better option? Keep in mind random places have whatever stuff. Not saying the source I posted is BMW gospel.

I prefer INPA, NCS-Expert and WinKFP. I’m glad I purchased the last 3 years then! ISTA is great but it doesn’t deviate at all. With the older softwares you can try things and see what the results are but ISTA for coding is set in stone.

Thanks guys ISTA D just for diagnosing errors. I saw those $30 download but I heard the complexity of installing The software. Saw some in eBay ready to use for $200 quick SSD swap. Anybody had experience on these?

It's been a while since I did it, but I don't remember the software installation and setup being very difficult. The files aren't easily found anymore, but the instructions to set everything up should be readily available.

At any rate, the tool is a great resource once you do have it. There are loads of information and service tips, pictures, wiring diagrams.... ....well you get the picture--that's why you're asking.

The $30 package installs everything for you after unzipping. All you have to do is configure the idiabas & remote config file per your cable and the directions come with it as well. I used an old windows 10 laptop. Whatever works for ya though. Just don’t tell anyone you bought it or you’ll lose street credit aparently
