Please recommend a place that is reasonably priced in Toronto, and carries a warranty? Are aftermarket bearings worth it??

Thanks!

I had mine done at RMP Motors, highly recommend them. I think they're the most knowledgeable about these cars in the GTA and they've done hundreds of bearing jobs.

I paid $2700 + tax for my rod bearings a few months ago and that includes motor mounts too. The only issue with RMP is that you'll have to book far in advance because they're stupid busy.

That's perfect thank you! Did you receive a warranty of any kind? What if the engine blows up right after?

I'm quite sure that they warranty their work but I didn't explicitly ask. I think it's highly unlikely that your engine would blow up after the job. Like I said, it's my understanding that they've done hundreds of these rod bearing jobs and know these cars well enough that it's extremely unlikely they would mess anything up.

If it did blow up, and it was related to the work they did, I'm sure they would make things right. I would give them a call and ask them this question.

There is a warranty for garage repairs under the consumer protection act in Ontario.

Based on what the other poster above mentioned, RMP is one of the most respected shops on BMWs in the GTA. Though probably best to ask them directly to what extent their work is warrantied.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, parts and labour generally have a warranty for a minimum of 90 days or 5,000 km (whichever comes first). Repair shops can also offer coverage beyond that minimum warranty.

If your vehicle breaks down during the warranty period, or becomes unsafe to drive because the repair was faulty, you can take it back to the repair shop or, if that is not reasonable, to the closest repair facility. The original repair shop has to pay back the money you were charged for the repair, as well as any reasonable towing costs involved.

Eurocharged is another go-to option. They've been doing the RBs regularly (at least in the past), so they're quite experienced in this particular work.
I also heard good things about 11Tenths Racecraft, but don't have direct experience with their work. They're however heavily involved with the BMW CCA Trillium chapter and are well-known in the BMW community

Parts and labor. ACL Race HX bearings and ARP Bolts. I think it was OEM motor mounts.

Their prices are high but they get the job done.
