I'll add I have definitely not noticed any decrease of power. As I mentioned before, the butt dyno does register some increased acceleration, for whatever that's worth.

I don't think that Epacy's performance is all that negatively impacted by the offset alignment of the piping at two of the four exit ports. I believe this is part of the design and that we are not seeing the complete picture here. I wish Ksig engineers could chime in, but from the limited knowledge and experience I have in flow dynamics I think its effects are not as adverse as the visual leads us to believe. Ep, call your peeps!

Checking back in
I just wanted to add some more impressions after additional break-in and evaluation, if anyone is still interested.
Still zero regrets. The sound with the valves open is just soooooo smile-inducing. I even continue to get compliments from my neighbors on the new sound. Also, since I leave at 5:30 a.m. every morning, the option to close the valves is just great. Not only is it a plus for my neighbors, as I am the first one out of neighborhood every morning, it is so superb to be able to match your exhaust sound with whatever situation you feel you're in. One aspect is you still get to have a stupid fantastic "aggressive" exhaust and still be able to keep on your neighbors good side, if that matters to you. As if the car isn't enough of an eye turner, the exhaust turns any additional heads you might miss. I don't mean cop heads, I mean people filling up at a gas station or outside of your local grocery. Zero 5-0 problems so far. I have "spirited driven" my friend with a 996 TT a couple times and he continues to remark about the excellent sound coming from my rear. The radio use in my car has drastically reduced since the install. Nothing more needs to be said on this specific topic. To add to the comment about how good the exhaust sounds with the valve closed, I was up at my local dealer and they wanted to check out the new exhaust. They drooled over the sound with the valves closed, so beastly! However, they also mentioned the exhaust still sounds quite good with the valves closed. It is a much different sound but very good in it's own right. Lastly, I can usually pick out what an exhaust sounds likes. I can relate it to something similar already out there. Being with this exhaust for a month, I can honestly say, I cannot place the sound of this exhaust with anything else out there. Unique doesn't even provide the right understanding of how it sounds. I have spent many drives trying to pin the sound on something and cannot. This might be redundant, but having the ability to switch valves and change the exhaust note is such a luxury. Sure, some people complain about the price but this is yet another example of you truly get what you pay for. |

Hey Epacy, this got my curious: "Lastly, I can usually pick out what an exhaust sounds likes. I can relate it to something similar already out there. Can you take some videos for us? I am curious if it sounds like mine. Mine also has a sound that I cant describe, but absolutely love.

What, you guys can't even "initiate jumps" and bend space with your valvetronics? What a scam!

Why does the inner exhaust tips have a small hole for the exhaust???? Looks like a Blocking plate in there. This looks like a Dinan with valves to open the fake tips. Is there any gain in HP??? Subwoofer you need to cut this exhaust open!!!! Im curious on how this works.

Haha Lucid, I'll look into adding that feature.
Gemini, I was wondering about that too. Does anyone know if there is a Dyno run for the Kreissigisigigig? I was thinking about getting one next week open vs closed with/without MShnell air filter

How is that possible? It looks too far back, since it leaves room for the valve to be open.

I think he means vertical. Ya that obviously wont hold the valve.. it needs to twist in there.
Epacy, now that you've had it a while, is the drone annoying at all?

The vertical "bar" the cylinder is the rotating hub of the valve itself. The seat fo the valve butterfly can be seen as the slightly smaller concentric ring. This again leaves the angled part as most likely the piece that determines/tunes sound levels.

The horizontal piece is used for control the proper back pressure. Because our muffler has dual chamber, it is required to maintain proper pressure to maintain best performance and sound. Last edited by Kreissieg; 03-26-2010 at 02:35 AM.. |
