Congratulations! +1 on black out of the E93 chrome trim. Mine is Jerez black and a few hundred on black matte wrap of the trim makes a big difference. You can order a blacked out grille too.

Just yank upwards, or is there a twist or something needed?
Just yank upwards

Picked the car up from PDR / Buffing / Ceramic Coating last week. Very happy to see the Jet black shine again, but the pic is making me realize I need to look into wheel spacers!

Nah, I recommend against... I tried cheap and expensive spaces on my 335, from 12 to 20 in size, and they all change somehow, even very slightly the steering behavior of the car. The cheap ones could even introduce vibrations.

I ended up just using rear spacers on my 335, the M3 is already wide in the rear with Michelin tires...

Just my 2 cents.

Congrats, great car.

+ 1 on the chrome delete
+1 on spacers

get ready for all the "purists" on here telling you it's not as good as an E90/92 (slow, heavy etc), then put the top down and listen to that glorious engine, it's an amazing drive.

He used Cquartz - I'll admit I didn't do much homework so hopefully it is a quality product

It definitely is - I think most high end detailing shops go with Cquartz, Modesta, and then some go for the consumer grade GTechniq.

Fellow e93 here as well - nothing like top down with the s65.

Note on spacers - Invest in the Future Classics if you must; Anything else, wheel vibration is almost definite. I have 10 in the rear and 12 in the front and it is completely perfect, for me anyway.

Love seeing a just-purchased bare bones stock M3... It's like an empty canvas, waiting for the artist to come in and make it unique.

Thanks for the feedback on coating and spacers - happy to hear cquartz is good stuff and I won't cheap out on spacers.
Absolutely agree on top down s65 exhaust note - especially with the fabspeed mid & rear sections. It's a street toy for me so I am happy to give up a little performance for the open air experience.

I will aim for an OEM plus look/feel. Saw your post - great looking blank slate in AW - adding CF accents will pop

Thank You! I am more of a DYI and did my e93 with Kamikaze ISM 1.0. I am planning to do my BSM Z4M soon and need to do some researches to see which coatings will make the metallic pops
Here are some pics of my after paint correction and Kamikaze ISM 1.0

Phoenix - looks great. I was tempted to DIY but didn't want to risk doing more harm than good!

I swapped the steering wheel and trim today for a much cleaner stock wheel. Nice to have it freshened up. Old wheel/trim/buttons will be available if anyone needs a coby core.

Good news: the cheap Eastwood car cover fits like it was made for the ///M

Bad news: something scratched the shit out of the back corner of the top before I got it covered

I did go Medium - just barely large enough to catch under front and rear

Finally had a nice day to pull the m3 out of hibernation. Also, 15mm/12mm spacers showed up today (thanks Kentegra) and I picked up my replacement roof molding from paint. Hope to find time tomorrow to get both installed.

Thanks fs34 - I'm loving the car but already getting tired of keeping two black vehicles clean!

Have been driving it quite a bit and started noticing some poor dampening when hitting a bump/pothole with the front right. Prior owner replaced all of the bushings in the front suspension so that shouldn't be the issue. Car only has 44k miles but is 12 years old — could the strut already be on the way out? It does have EDC if that makes any difference.

How are feeling about the low end torque? Is it a lot different than your 911? I'm a fairly new owner and sort of struggling with the lack of initial grunt.
