This hit my alert for Blue E90's - looks like a middle of the road decent daily driver spec. No ZCP, no individual audio, sunroof, DCT - but 1 owner and only ~52k miles, looks like Euro delivery too so probably an enthusiast.

Price seems high for the spec, but it was probably a trade in so might have some room to haggle them down if it's in decent shape. Still too early to even have pictures so anyone local might be worth checking out.

Pics are posted. Some wear and tear but overall looks pretty good, bone stock.

Blue cars always carry a premium. Comparably I'd say this is still $4-5k high but stock E90s I'm this color don't show up often. I paid $39,500 for my 2011 IG E90 with the same mileage but it was ZCP, individual Audio, extended leather.

Comparably the 6MT car that just sold for $34k in Cali was a steal but that was 3000 miles away and sold in under 24 hours.

If you are like me though "it had to be blue".

The main issue for you is a BMW dealer is unlike other used car dealers in that they know what they have, and the rarity it presents. Also, the way they priced it is relatively fair and I don't see them negotiating until it's been sitting for 60+ days.

So if you want a clean IB/LMB E90, you must run, not walk to this dealer and pay them whatever they are asking.

If you are very interested but only at a lower price, go down and take a look and make your best offer, preferably with funds you can provide same day. Speed of transaction might outweigh higher price.

Good luck!

Price seems high to me. Nothing remarkable about this one except it's blue and one owner. Front plate drilled. Now if it had all the right maintenance with proof, then that makes a difference, but hard to know what the owner did or did not do to maintain it. It's got fold seats which can be hard to find on e90 in the states but most people don't care.

It's definitely high - but one owner is a plus on a car that's 10 years old. It looks like the car was primarily serviced at the dealer - you could make them give you the print outs to see if it was up to date. But don't bother asking them about rod bearings or TA's.

Will anyone be able to get them down $5k? Probably not. Like BR2 said - if they think they have some good margin on this (they probably paid the owner $20k on trade in) then if you just show up and are willing to put cash down maybe you can walk away with it for less. If they think you're just fishing they'll happily let it sit in front of the shop for a few weeks before trickling the price down.

The only advantage I'd say is selling a car like this in the dead of NJ winter isn't a great time for people to want to buy sports cars.

No question I agree the price is high, but I would argue the combination of everything you listed allows the dealer to ask a high price.

As CyberD mentioned, any maintenance done at a BMW dealership can be pulled up, and a Carfax can confirm the 1 owner and any major insurance claims.

My only concern when a very clean, low mileage E9x M3 with unique/rare color get's traded to a dealer is the "why" when you can get so much more selling it directly here or elsewhere, which minimal effort.

So I'd want a PPI to identify what is NOT in the maintenance records and Carfax, then if the car checks out, I'd make a strong offer.

Don't forget most people who could afford to buy these cars new were often affluent enough where trading in a 10 year old car on their new M5 and getting 25k hassle free is a good deal.

Your average dentist doesn't want to field questions about rod bearings and very well may not have any idea.

Fwiw I spoke to the original owner of my car, he sold it for $25k with the same mileage. Dealer had to put some money into it plus get it shipped 2000 miles, and I died a little when I heard that but I'm ok with it. So yeah I bet they got this car in the mid 20s.

Drive by to check it out on Wednesday but didn't see it there. Drive around the dealership lot 3 times and nothing. Maybe it was in the service bay or maybe I missed it when they took it out for photos.

A quick call to the dealer to setup an appointment to see it would clarify it's status; please keep us updated as you can.

I agree this is a little high since it is not a ZCP and does not have the premium audio, BUT since it is blue and a e90 it's rare and if you don't get it someone else will.

It's insane to me that a 10 year old car is still fetching this much. I kind of wish I bought a e90 instead of my e92.

Like others said, the price is definitely on the high side. If it had 6MT, ZCP, slicktop and EPS I would say it may be worth the asking price but with the way things are now someone is going to pay every cent of that asking price. I'm just glad I'm not in the market for a e9x M3 right now.

Hopefully found it's way to an enthusiast. Blue cars don't last!

All of what you guys have said is true: overpriced, 10 year old car, no ZCP, premium audio (IMHO a contradictory term given it's not that great).

But the only comment I would take issue with is akkando with:
Quote:
Nothing remarkable about this one except it's blue
There is only one lesson CyberD and I have been trying to tell you peeps when it comes to E9x M3 in IB/LMB: Move quickly or it will be GONE GONE GONE.

Yeah, it was still a low mileage, bone stock, one owner example though. That was clearly worth something to somebody even if they were late to the game. Makes me feel like my car was less outrageously priced.

I see my selling dealer just added another "less than remarkable and overpriced E90" https://clients.automanager.com/91e0...37e84bb3f957a6
