Wheel spacers for the M3?
Buddy just put a set on and was wondering what the consensus is on them. Better looking but does it hamper performance at all? Where can I get them and what do I need to be aware of when ordering/installing?

It doesn't really affect performance at all. Just make sure you get a quality set and you will be fine. We carry them on our site so feel free to check that out.

unless you want the wheels to fall off!
tire rack has 5mm spacers for the m3. I ran them on the rear with my track tires, no problems.

Spacers
I do not. I think it would look better, but I don't really like the idea for a pure point of view. I will probably get wheels with more aggressive width/offset at some future point.

With the stock 18's (I use them on the track) I am running 15mm front and 10mm rear. This helps dial out the understeer inherent in the car due to the smaller wheel width in the front and resulting narrower track. My front and rear track are almost exactly the same now which yields a fairly neutral car. The car is also sitting on H&R Sport springs. There is no rubbing or issues with this setup (stock tire sizes) and car drives great. I've always used H&R Trak+ spacers and lug bolts/studs with great success! --ch. |

Spacers are always an interesting topic. Are spacers illegal over in the US? i know they are here, due to extra stress on bearings and cases of actual wheel failures. Sadly there have been instances where insurance companies have rejected claims on completely unrelated matters because of fitment of spacers, and most here only EVER use them in emergencies issues with suspension and wheel/brake clearance, and much prefer to use correctly offset wheels, or nothing at all. Is there this same caution towards spacers in the US?

Erm, I'm on track tomorrow and run my Breyton 19s with no spacers on the front and 10mm spacers on the rear. I was going to remove the rear spacers when I switch the OEM 18s back on for the track day but wonder if people thought I should leave them on for any benefit? Minor point but I thought I would ask.
